This was my horrible experience and you can draw your own conclusions. Needed a new hot water tank. Was quoted approx. $1300 bottom line everything included but the tax. Plumber came with his apprentice. After a couple hours of taking out the old tank and putting in the new plumber tells me his boss will be mad at him because he bought the wrong size strapping to secure the tank if there was an earthquake. Told him I was not paying for the kit as that was his error. A couple more hours later when all was said and done I was presented with a bill for $1709 which he somehow justified quoting tax, travel time etc. Reviewed with plumber the next job that needed to be done under the kitchen sink: Removal of garburator, removal of water purifier, unhook water line going to fridge. Called their head office asking for a ballpark quote for the next work to be done was quoted between $300 & $400. Plumber came today to do that job. Showed up at 11:45 am. Told him I had an appointment and needed to leave at 2pm to which he said “that’s plenty of time we will be finished before 2”. Took out items from under sink and at one point came to me holding some kind of cap or pin saying that he would need to go to Home Depot to get the proper capping, he said that was better than soldering it. About 20 minutes later he said he was going to solder it instead. (?) It was now around 1::30 On went the time and he was still under the sink when it was around 3pm. Said he would be finished in 5 minutes. 45 minutes later he said he was done and went outside to his truck to write the bill. I looked under sink to see what was done and just happened to turn on the water to check everything. It leaked! Walked outside to his truck and said it’s leaking. He says “Where?” !! I said under the sink of course come and look. Remember, he had gone to his truck to write the bill. When he came in he held a screwdriver up to my face and tells me he went to his truck to get this to tighten something. That’s funny, I thought he told me he was finished and was going to his truck to write the bill! He got under the sink again, by now it’s 4pm (4 hours from when he arrived to do this simple job), and after about 20 minutes I went in to find out why it was again taking so long. He said there was a cracked copper pipe that he didn’t see before. Hummm, my sink was not leaking before he came to the home but now all of a sudden there is a cracked copper pipe that is leaking. Another 45 minutes and finally I got my bill. So now the $300 - $400 quote has turned in to $1155! Draw your own conclusions but I will never use this company again. It was the worst experience I have ever had with service people. I feel totally taken advantage of. Speedy Pluming, time to change your name!
