Floor and stair tread re-finishing, hardwood installation
Laminate 240 sq ft Basboard 1 floor
From the time the floor was installed, until the delivery of the transition piece was 5 weeks 3 days. Last I checked 1 month is 4.33 weeks. It did take time for the transition piece to get in. The laminate and matching transitions come from China, and if it is out of stock, it can take time to come in stock. The day the floor and trim was complete everything looked great as stated by Andrew. The trim did need to be painted and caluked, as we only install. The price for the trim install is by the running foot and is on par with other flooring and trim companies. The transition piece could not be pre-ordered because there was new tile being installed to the attached spaces. I didnt know at the time what the floor height difference would be. It clearly states in my terms and conditions that transition pieces may need to be ordered and done at a later date due to these type of situations. The transition pieces cost $30-$35 each, and there was two needed (1 was instock and installed). I do not charge for them until they are delivered and Installed. At the time I left, I said It would probably take several weeks to get the transition piece. I was more than willing to come and install it.
To sum it up, the project was priced very fair and competitvly, It was completed on time, and transitions were ordered. This is not a "Big Box" store type of flooring where they give you a transition that is "close", they are all exact matches and can take time to be delivered.
Sorry you feel the way you do, and have a hard time understanding things can take time.

The project did take longer than expected. This was due to minor defects in the product that I noticed during my inspection of the wood during installation. I had given a rough estimate of a 1 week time line based on just doing the main floor. We ended up doing the whole house instead. The project did still take a while. I was doing my best to deal with the manufacture to get the defective product exchanged. When brining new product into the house, it must acclimatize which again slowed the process down. Taking this long to complete a project is not normal practice for us, as you can see from previous customer reviews. The installation was done exceptionally well. Jason and his wife praised the install skills on a daily basis and even compared it to his parent’s floors saying my method and outcome was far superior. I don’t remember leaving any lose pieces of trim, but it is possible, as mistakes do happen, however I am more than willing to fix anything that might have been over looked. At the end of the job, we did a walk through the whole house prior to the final payment being made, and Jason was satisfied with the job. Not only did I give him a discount at the end of the job because I felt bad for the delay, I also spent around $500 to get extra wood for the job when I was having issues with the manufacturer getting wood exchanged. I did NOT pass this expense onto Jason.
I would have to say, during the whole project, I understood the frustration with the delays, but it was out of my control when waiting on a supplier to determine the product defective and replace the wood. At no time during the installation were there any negative conversations with regards to the installation of the wood.
Thanks Ashley! It was a pleasure working with you and your family ! I hope your enjoying your new floors!
