We hired Capital Columns to install Crown Moldings throughout the first floor because they responded quickly to all our questions and emails. The rep came out, was on time and very knowledgeable, he answered every question to our satisfaction. The price was not the cheapest but we were confident that this was the company that would do it right. Installers came (on time), installed in less than a day, followed by the painters (on time) the very next day.
I mention punctuality because we had never seen contractors who were punctual and worked harder while they were on the job site. They never stopped until the job was complete.
The work was immaculate, everyone who comes in to our home marvels at the installation. We have already referred 2 relatives to Capital Columns and Trim.

We recently purchased a home that had a rotting wooden porch column. Also the porch overhang was tilted the wrong way. About 2 weeks before we were scheduled to move, I searched the internet to do some research. Imagine my surprise that not a lot of companies will replace porch columns. I called & Herb promptly answered my call. We chatted about my issue and he gave me a ballpark estimate over the phone and I promised I would call him once we moved in. When I was ready, I called Herb again and he scheduled an appointment with me a couple of days later. He showed up PROMPTLY when he said he would, he gave us a verbal quotation followed up by a written estimate via email. We asked him a bunch of questions which he patiently answered. His workers showed up on the agreed upon date & time and were very courteous and professional. We asked them if they could raise the porch overhang a bit to make the slant a little less noticeable. They were more than happy to do so. They cleaned up after themselves and were very pleasant to deal with. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this firm!

Thiis company, specializes in crown moulding. The selection was extensive, the crown moulding styles offered are simple, yet elegant, and looks good in almost all decors, so it's a wise choice. The material is MDF, not wood or plaster, and its flexibility allows for easy corrections of uneven walls and ceilings. The price is affordable by most budgets. With no extra surprises, it's well worth enhancing your home.
When the installation crew (a team of 3 guys) showed up, I was absolutely amazed at their skill level. They managed to do most of my first floor within hours, and it looks really good!!! And I MEAN GOOD!
This is perfect, as the seams came out very tight. The work was precise, and looks beautiful, which is way better than drywall compound (that will eventualy dry and crack) or silicon (that cannot be painted over).
The installation crew was careful not to damage anything, and were tidy. Overall, this was an outstanding job, very professionally done.

My husband and I discovered Capital Columns & Trim and the Homestars website while doing an internet search.

We called them and were very impressed. Herb answered all of our questions and then came to our house to take measurements. We have an open concept house and his recommendations for our 10' ceilings) throughout the entire main floor, powder room and upper hallway (including a two storey stairwell).

The installers showed up at our home on time and many spent hours on installation.
He said it was straight forward but time consuming because we had 34 additional corners over the allocated quantity. Intallers were very friendly, organized and meticulous.
They re-measured everything, cut the columns and the molding on our driveway, installed it, spackled the nail gun holes and caulked above and below.

It looks absolutely amazing, the rooms look more spaciousm the powder room looks especially beautiful.
The upper hallway and the two storey stairwell really impressed us as well.
We now have a painter working on the house and he is very impressed with the work as well and I definitely recommend having the molding painted afterwards since it does make a wonderful difference in our decor.
