Movers

You don't have to read many reviews about movers on this site to see some real horror stories, but I can tell you there is no horror dealing with Firemen Movers, from my first contact with them on the telephone to the empty truck driving away from my new home every step of the move was a pleasure.

First off our inquiry started with leaving a voicemail for the company. Their outgoing message said that all staff were on a full day of training and they would make every effort to contact me that day. Within two hours I had a call back from one of the company owners, Doug Harper. We arranged for Doug to come out to the house to provide us with an estimate, on a Sunday morning. Doug was there on time which was surprising since he is an active fire captain in Etobicoke and had been up battling a motel fire the night before. He was very friendly and explained everything that Firemen Movers would do for us. We were impressed and coupled with the excellent reviews here on HomeStars we booked the move with him.

Two days before moving day we had a call from the office confirming the move and providing us with an arrival window of 1/2 an hour.

Moving day, the shiny red truck arrived on time with three young men on board; Curtis W, Chris T and Jamie. They all introduced themselves, then asked to see what would be involved in the move. Then they got to work and never stopped working the whole time they were with us. We have moved many times before and were used to movers disappearing regularly during the move for a smoke or some other break. Not with Curtis, Chris and Jamie. They wrapped all our furniture in plastic wrap and blankets and packed it carefully on the truck. Everything was secured with tie downs and I swear the truck could have tipped over and our furniture would not have moved.

At the new house they carefully laid red runners everywhere and then started the unpacking process. Again they never stopped moving. Doug had estimated 7 1/2 hours for the move but Curtis, Chris and Jamie did it in 5. Nothing was scratched or broken. Doug warned that damage is inevitable but he was wrong.

Moving is a stressful time, but Firemen Movers don't add to the stress, if anything they alleviate it. Great company and I do not hesitate to recommend them. You won't find better!!!
