We had sold our home and the deal was conditional on a home inspection. The home inspector found "excessive moisture" on the west facing basement wall. The new purshaser agreed to complete the purchase if I had the necessary repairs done by a reputable firm. I used Duggan's on two separate occasions for different problems at another house so didn't hesitate to call then again. Toronto had just been subject to some torrential rain so needless to say Duggan's was busy, but Brad still found the time to come out that day to provide me with an estimate. He discovered a possible crack in the foundation and that the window well did not have proper drainage. We agreed on a price and he promised to complete the repairs later that week. Some further rain put his crews behind but he did come out on the following Monday. I can not believe how quickly the guys worked, nor how they were able to dig straight down to the footings. They replaced the drain and repaired the crack. The clean-up was amazing and if I hadn't seen the hole myself I would doubt that they even had been there. I remember the school bus driving by Duggan's location over 40 years ago and that is why I called them in the first place. They have been in business since 1921 and the quality of the work they do is the reason why. I highly recommmend!!

You don't have to read many reviews about movers on this site to see some real horror stories, but I can tell you there is no horror dealing with Firemen Movers, from my first contact with them on the telephone to the empty truck driving away from my new home every step of the move was a pleasure. First off our inquiry started with leaving a voicemail for the company. Their outgoing message said that all staff were on a full day of training and they would make every effort to contact me that day. Within two hours I had a call back from one of the company owners, Doug Harper. We arranged for Doug to come out to the house to provide us with an estimate, on a Sunday morning. Doug was there on time which was surprising since he is an active fire captain in Etobicoke and had been up battling a motel fire the night before. He was very friendly and explained everything that Firemen Movers would do for us. We were impressed and coupled with the excellent reviews here on HomeStars we booked the move with him. Two days before moving day we had a call from the office confirming the move and providing us with an arrival window of 1/2 an hour. Moving day, the shiny red truck arrived on time with three young men on board; Curtis W, Chris T and Jamie. They all introduced themselves, then asked to see what would be involved in the move. Then they got to work and never stopped working the whole time they were with us. We have moved many times before and were used to movers disappearing regularly during the move for a smoke or some other break. Not with Curtis, Chris and Jamie. They wrapped all our furniture in plastic wrap and blankets and packed it carefully on the truck. Everything was secured with tie downs and I swear the truck could have tipped over and our furniture would not have moved. At the new house they carefully laid red runners everywhere and then started the unpacking process. Again they never stopped moving. Doug had estimated 7 1/2 hours for the move but Curtis, Chris and Jamie did it in 5. Nothing was scratched or broken. Doug warned that damage is inevitable but he was wrong. Moving is a stressful time, but Firemen Movers don't add to the stress, if anything they alleviate it. Great company and I do not hesitate to recommend them. You won't find better!!!

To deal with Demitris you must be a little patient at the beginning, but his craftsmanship and integrity makes the initial inconvenience more thaan worth your time. One of the best things about dealing with Demitris is that he is everything, the salesman, the estimater and the craftsman. Other companies we have dealt with, the end worker is far removed from the salesperson that made the promises. The downside to this is that Demitris is committed to the job he is doing so it can be difficult to schedule a time for the estimate. We had hardwood refinishing done in another house several years ago and the difference in quality is night and day, and as a matter of fact, Demitris is going to redo our stairs at a very reasonable cost to make our house more marketable. We couldn't be happier with the end result and strongly recommend Dimitris.
