Kitchen

Val and his team were very professional and did the job within the timeframe that was promised.
They communicated well every step of the way, from the first design, to the final installation.
Val followed up even after the job was completed just to make sure we were satisfied, which we 100% were.
My wife now finally has the Kitchen of her dreams and loves cooking once again.
Thanks Val for everything, now on to the next project, upstairs wall to wall bookshelf/cabinets in the Master bedroom, we have just finalized the final drawings. Looking forward to having these completed end of April 2022.

Poor Quality kitchen cabinets/install

I do not recommend...Horrible experience-supply and install of new custom cabinetry (selected by contractor Veracity group for my kitchen reno):

After multiple visits to 'repair' still have wonkey drawers (on angles, don't close), poor 'fixes' to island that was supposed to be dark blue island with open shelf (no communication that they were going to leave maple exposed in otherwise blue island). Tried to purchase door to cover directly through them, but they wouldn't return my communication attempts.

Originally delivered in wrong colour. Repainted, but easily chips to revel original wrong colour.
Cutouts for appliances were incorrect (all specs provided), appliances didn't fit. Came to fix, but still too small. Changed the dimensions of my cabinetry without consulting me (due to incorrectly measuring space).

Cabinets are not made to sizing on signed paperwork, nor given choice or options as to which cabinet sizes would be adjusted.
Less than 6 months after install, trim is coming away at ceiling. Grave concerns over these cabinets.

Note also that the interior of the cabinets are shallower than normal (my dinner plates don't fit in uppers)- just an FYI.

Couple photos attached post 'repairs' from the company.

Had really hoped the company would repair, its been 6 months, initially told they were just busy. Tried by email, phone and visiting in person at thier showroom over a period of time, told on last visit they will not be making any repairs.

Finally got a response from the company only this week (last reply was over 6 months) who is now blaming the contractor I used, claiming cabinetry was "tampered with" after install, several excuses that aren't feasible.

I would be perfectly happy to put my experience in the past, but I've patiently waited and apparently for no reason,  expecting this company to correct thier defects.

Truly unprofessional. I highly recommend going elsewhere in terms of both quality and service.

My last kitchen was done by another local (but not as close ) company (absolutely excellent product, service and value) and I highly regret going with a closer company that seemed more convenient.

Premium price without quality

This company will sell you a premium priced product that is not structurally sound (sags), did not provide required assembly hardware, did not provide installation or assembly instructions and will send rude staff without a mask into your home to not offer solutions.

Through our designer we purchased a custom vanity from Evan kitchen cabinets for our master bathroom.

When we were ready for delivery, we were advised that the company currently not offering installation due to Covid-19, but the unit was complete and they would deliver to the garage.

At this point we'd been without our master bathroom for over a month as we had started the tear-down before the shutdown. We had to find a way to move things forward, so my designer and contractor discussed and determined that the contractor would assemble and install the vanity (the contractor is very skilled and has been doing this for well over 40 years). At no point during the discussion about delivery did they suggest that this vanity may be difficult and recommend we wait for them to install.

When the vanity was delivered they provided no instructions or hardware. When my contractor started assembly he had to go back to Evans several times for clarifications and to request hardware. This required several trips to the manufacturer to pick up supplies.

Once the counter was installed on top it was noted that the middle of the vanity was sagging and my contractor put in a temporary leg to hold it up. The drawers were all misaligned so we asked them to come to adjust them (they were now allowing staff inside homes).

The person they sent to my home showed up without a mask and upon greeting us rudely said “what’s wrong with the vanity”. I explained the issue and he asked if it was screwed to the wall. I advised I didn’t know as the contractor did it. I got our contractor on the phone so that they could discuss. The person from the cabinet place waived me off and basically refused to talk to the contractor.

After the guy from Evans kitchen cabinets looked at it, I was told that legs (that were not provided) should have been installed at the back of the unit and unlike a typical vanity, it should have been screwed to the wall all the way down the back not just the top (at the top is industry norm). His only suggestion to fix it would be to take the counter off, and redo the whole thing (plumbing, fix the wall, the whole 9 yards. Not an option now (or a very expensive one).

We discussed with my contractor and he is going to bring in air bags to raise the unit, add legs and secure it. We advised Evans of this much less expensive plan and requested that they cover the cost of these repairs. They have indicated they are not responsible for installation and will not cover these additional expenses, essentially washed their hands of the whole situation.

At many times during this transaction Evans could have done several things that could have avoided this problem including: saying they recommend they do installation, provided installation instructions or a call with our contractor, at a minimum flag that this installation would be different from standard, provided all the parts necessary for installation the first time delivery, but nope! Instead they sent someone to our home without a mask who was rude and dismissive and have taken no responsibility for the fact they charged us for a premium vanity that was not able to hold the weight of a counter top and taken no responsibility for their product quality or complete lack of service. We would have been better off going to Ikea

Company Response

Hi Melissa, I am sorry to hear about your negative experience with our company. Our team at Evan Kitchen Cabinets is most reputable for our thoroughness, our exceptional work quality and our craftsmanship. However, I believe that it is important to express another perspective to this story. Unfortunately, I am certain that this case was a matter of a lot of miscommunication, as some of the claims you made did not come from us, but instead, directly from your designer/contractor. This is something that does happen when working through others and not directly communicating with our team. The only direction given to us from your Designer was to manufacture the vanity. They clearly indicated that they wanted to take care of the installation. That being said, the moment the vanity was delivered, our job was completed. It is extremely shocking that your contractor with over 40 years of experience struggled this much with a small vanity! Not to mention we also explained when vanity was delivered how to easily install. Regardless, if you would like to go more in depth and discuss this matter further, I am willing to speak with you and do my best to sort this out in the best way possible.
My phone number is (416)-918-0712.
Thank you.

Kitchen / Family Room

This is the second time we have used Evan Kitchen Cabinetry - they did our master and main floor bathrooms two years ago. Val handled both projects for us - helping us decide on the final "look" of the project. Nothing was overlooked and the cabinets in the kitchen and family room fireplace wall not only are significant upgrades for our home, but the organization that can be found inside the cabinets make life so much easier. We are thrilled with the final outcome and highly recommend them for the quality of their products and the service and support provided to us along the way.

Daycare

I'm opening a daycare and was referred to Evan Kitchen Cabinets.
After meeting with Val I now understand why it was highly recommended that I pay Evan Kitchens a visit before choosing a company to provide all the millwork for my new business. Val and his team not only helped with the design but also recommended the finishes that would most compliment my design and layout. After only a few minutes it was very evident to me that Val is very passionate about his work.
The millwork has turned out even better than I expected and it compliments my centre like it was a custom job at an amazing price. The project was completed ahead of schedule and the installation was quick and professionally done by his team. We had a few awkward areas and I thought there was no way they could get the cabinetry and countertop in there without damaging walls but was I wrong. It was like magic I leave for a few minutes and the installation was complete with no evidence of any nicks or scratches to the freshly painted and finished walls. They are PROS.
In my opinion, if you need custom millwork at very affordable pricing and you don't pay Evan Kitchen Cabinets a visit you are making a big mistake. They do it all from start to finish and you will be getting compliments on their work like I've been getting.
Thanks again Val and team it was a pleasure doing business with you!

Kitchen Renovation

My wife and I were looking to upgrade a standard "builder" kitchen, and Val at Evan Kitchen's was highly recommended. We contacted Val, visited his showroom, and saw some online samples of the work that they do, and these validated what we had heard. Val was very pleasant to deal with - he listened to every detail of what we were looking for, and offered some additional tips and suggestions to make our dream kitchen even better! Once the design was finalized, Val continued to communicate with us throughout the entire process. The kitchen was installed with great attention to detail, and fit our space perfectly. It is exactly what we wanted! Val even went above and beyond by helping us locate the countertops we wanted! We are extremely happy with our Kitchen and highly recommend Evan Kitchens to anyone looking for their perfect kitchen. Thank you Val!!!

My Dream Kitchen!

"A happy wife, is a happy life" is something my husband truly believes in and after many quotes and consultations we didn't have a hard time choosing Evan's Kitchens. From start to finish they gave us everything and more. They even helped us get a great deal on appliances. They gave us a timeline and stuck too it. No delays!! Just before the kitchen was installed we had all our hardwood floors installed. I was worried that the floors would get damaged.....but not a scratch!! The installers (who were so professional) didn't leave a speck of dust behind. I barely had much to clean. The quality of the material you can tell is not from China and I know will last a long time. I could not be happier. Don't waste your time and money shopping around because nothing will be as good as their product. Thank you for all your honesty and hard work. I truly believe the heart of the home is in the kitchen and Evan's Kitchens brought the love!!!
Sincerely Sara & Joe

Kitchen Renovation

I worked with one of the owners, Val Franso, in designing my dream kitchen. The experience was a dream and my kitchen and entrance look absolutely stunning. Val is very personable, I was able to change my design without hearing him complain, instead he worked with me. He was able to squeeze in my timeline without rushing the work. Val and his team were very professional as well. It is evident that this is not just a job to them, but it is a passion and an art, everything needs to be perfect! In fact, when our home started shifting, Val made sure that his piece still looked as stunning as day one and I cannot thank him enough. Our home Reno project was huge and I have to say, Val and his team were the easiest, the most reliable and the hardest working group. I cannot praise or thank them enough!

New Home Kitchen, Laundry and Closet Organizer Installation

Evan Kitchen creates quality kitchens.
Val was very helpful with suggestions on style, colour and design of my kitchen.
He provided me with three different selection of colours for my kitchen, and also suggested if I wasn't happy with the colours he he would make an appointment with his cabinet painter for other options.
Val also provided me with a stone kitchen sink which is beautiful, very happy with it.
Val also completed my Laundry room cabinets and Master Bedroom closet organizer. Very happy with this as well.
Installation was on schedule and great workmanship.
I would recommend Evan Kitchen to friends and family.
