Chimney Rebuild

The previous homeowner parged the chimney and left it in a crumbling state. It would not have survived the winter in that condition.

We chose Haroutunian Masonry after obtaining quotes from two other companies. One, is a well advertised firm who also sell wood stoves. After waiting for a quote that never materialized, I did a search and found Wayne Haroutunian - thebrick.

He was professional, detailed in the explanation of the work to be done. He matched the brick to the house. Sam and Richard who performed the work were absolutely fantastic! Very personable and professional.

The job site was completely cleaned off all rubble and debris. Great job and very well done!

I would not hesitate to recommend Wayne and team to anyone requiring masonry work.

Tuck Pointing

I hired this company to do tuckpointing on my house. I pointed out some major areas that had to be patched up. They promised me that the mortar used would match the colour of the existing mortar. IT DOES NOT! Even a year later it is obvious which areas have been tuckpointed.

THEY DAMAGED THE BRICKS TO MY FOUNDATION while grinding out old mortar to fill in with new mortar.

After the so-called completion of the job I located 16 different spots that needed attention including a MAJOR HOLE along my door frame that was not addressed the first time. The hole was over an 2 inches in diameter! The only reason I didn't give them a 0 was because they came back and filled in the outstanding holes after I marked them.

Now I get these annoying flyers in the mail almost every month telling me to recommend them or to do more work with them. I can't stand it. What a poor experience.

Tuck pointing, spot pointing, parging, pillar rebuilding

We hired Haroutunian after receiving 2 other quotes as Wayne was easy to communicate with and reasonable with his pricing. The work was done as described on the quote and the quality was good. The work area was kept neat and there were no issues that would prevent us from using him again. A year later we called him to touch up a few areas which he did for no charge.

Brick work

Five years ago we had work completed by Wayne's team. Very pleased with his work and professionalism. His follow up and periodic mailings are great. Finally after all this time I am able to refer him to my sister in law knowing she will receive An excellent, honest job. hope she uses Haroutunian and spends her money wisely.
This price was not relevant compared to the work now five years has past, I just remember being completely satisfied start, finish and after....how often does this happen.

Chimney Repair

Our project required a rebuild of the chimney from the roofline up, and tuckpointing of the existing chimney below the roofline. Wayne was excellent -- very professional, prompt, responsive, and always kept us in the loop of schedules and steps. The brickwork of the chimney looks fantastic! Wayne takes customer satisfaction very seriously -- in fact, in closing off the job, he came to site and personally took care of the additional tuckpointing that I wanted done. Although they aren't the cheapest, you certainly get quality for your dollar -- and with brickwork and foundation repair, these are areas that you should ensure get this level of quality. Thanks Wayne for your and your crew's work!

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Get a few quotes, and go with your guts not just the price. Your brick work is important and you don't want your house to collapse and the job should last for a very long time.

refacing existing parging to clean up for resale

Haroutunians refaced parging that was good, but needed freshening for resale. They were contacted late in the season, came promptly, did a lovely job, returned to clean up the job site, and took my follow up comments to heart. I would certainly recommend them ... and am looking to them now for a quotation for new windows.........
