The company (Asbestos Be Gone - a subsidiary of Air Detectives) was relatively quick, and efficient. Their quote didn't seem obscene. I was told that the abatement vehicle would be unmarked, and stressed the importance of such, as we didn't want neighbours talking. Upon removal, the workers carried asbestos-filled "hazmat" bags down our driveway and tossed them into the truck, leaving the doors open for all the world to see. They could have backed right into our back yard, but chose not to. Also, the quote stated that an air sample was necessary ($100), but none was performed. The owner contacted me to request payment the day after the job was complete, and didn't mention the sample. When asked, he reluctantly said he'd come do it. I informed him that I had read the regulations and determined that it was not necessary. He agreed, and again reluctantly, took $100 off our bill (which *MUST* be payed with e-transfer - again, ridiculous for a company in today's age of credit cards). The owner demanded payment every day, repeatedly calling my personal line two or three times each day. He cited that his workers don't get paid unless we pay - again, ridiculous (we planned and have since paid, however were out of WiFi area for a couple days). Overall, they got the job done, but the customer service and admin side of things was certainly lacking.
