Empire garage furnace servicecall
My Empire DVC-35-1SPP garage furnace had a thermocouple & piezo lighter failure after 9 years reliable service. As I’d originally purchased the furnace from Protech, I contacted them to arrange service => Darlene (office) & Jesse (gasfitter tech) were both great to work with and got the furnace restored on the first visit. I’d like to see improved parts availability for this brand as it took ~ 5 weeks for the thermocouple to arrive from the U.S. => good thing that it was May and not January.

- Company Response
Good day Ian,
I am sorry about the wait time for the parts. We do try to stock some parts but we cannot stock them all. We wish we could. When we order in a part for a client we order an extra one to stock a good portion of the time.Manufacturers and suppliers are experiencing challenges with freight companies securing available trucks for pickups. They have informed us that sometimes when an order is picked and ready for transport, it may take 6-8 business days before a carrier shows up. Then when the shipment is slated for Canada there is transit time on top of this. That is adding 2-3 weeks.
Lock downs and stay at home orders slow down the process on all other aspects.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you
Darlene
