Toilet Repair That Didn't Last

We had Mr. Plumber come and fix our toilet 1 year and 6 days ago. They completed a "minor tank rebuild" including a new fill line, supply line, and trip lever. They also provided a 1 year warranty on parts and labor for the repair provided. At the time of the repair, we were happy with how quickly they came and took care of the problem. HOWEVER, 1 year and SIX DAYS later, our toilet lever is broken AGAIN, and they are refusing to honor the warranty because it expired 6 days ago. After paying nearly $400 to have our toilet repaired, I expected the parts to last longer than 1 year. I will not be using this plumber in the future nor will I be recommending them to any of my fellow homeowners.

$375.00

Hi Stephanie. As you describe in your review, we are unable to fix your toilet free of charge after the warranty has expired. Similarly, we can not exchange the parts with the manufacturer for free after the warranty has expired. We would be happy to come and fix your toilet for you but as the warranty has expired, we need to be compensated for the work as it is not free for us either. Sorry you did not have the extremely positive experience that our other clients have shown here. Regards, Vlad

Plumbing - clogged toilet

Andrew and Alex responded to my call regarding a blockage concern. From start to finish, they were completely professional and provided excellent service.
Besides actually resolving the problem, they provided me some best practices with respect to toilet maintenance and educated me on what caused my issues. They were timely and the price was reasonable given the industry standard.

Leak Under the Sink

Andrew and Alex came to fix what we thought was just a small leak under our kitchen sink. We learned the entire piping work from a previous home owner was a very amateur job and required a complete overhaul to avoid bigger plumbing problems in the future. Andrew and Alex were very knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. They explained what they were doing and also how to maintain/care for plumbing in our home. They even looked at other plumbing problem areas and advised on these. We would call them without hesitation for any future plumbing work. Excellent, professional job!

Back-water Valve installation

Very professional and punctual. The front yard looks exactly like it did before the job. (They hand dug an 11 foot deep hole to replace a broken tree-root infested 1920's era house trap with a back-water valve - to qualify for a subsidy from the city of Toronto). They also replaced a broken "y" pipe that connects the neighbour's sewer to mine (beyond the backwater valve) on the way out to the street at no additional charge. Total cost was/will be $2800 Parts&Labour + $364 HST - $1250 Mail-in Subsidy = a grand total of $1914. I'm very happy with their service. Edit: I forgot to mention they also installed 2 clean out pipes on either side of the back-water valve (1 facing towards house, 1 facing towards street) for easy snaking in the future.

Approximate cost of services:
$1,914.00

Hi Ben, thanks for posting your review. Backwater valve is one of the flood protection devices, so your basement is protected from city sewage backup. All the best, Mister Plumber team
