The Drain Man Calgary Alberta

I called The Drain Man for a plugged sink drain and when the service guy took it apart to see on where the plug was he realized it wasn't plugged, but instead it apparently wasn't built properly in the beginning.. They took apart the trap under the sink and sized the drain properly for me and only charged me for the drain cleaning. I felt they went above and beyond. I would recommend them to my friends.

The Drain Man is an awful representative of the trade industry. You know all the stories people tell you about how you must shop around before agreeing to any work? How you must set a price before allowing work to begin? Well, in this case they are true. This should have cost $600, he charged us $1100. And the follow-up is threatening and abusive phone calls.
The Drain Man stands there with a wireless credit card machine and demands $690+ to unblock a drain. Two hours minimum, @ $330 an hour. Wished I had been on the ball and put him to work for the remaining hour and a half. Then the fellow wouldn't unblock my drive-way (guess that's not a plumbing job). And the abusive calls start. So far I have a lien on my property, the civil authorities have been called and Mr 'The Drain Man' is on his way to take what will be left over. All in less time than to clean my drain.

Was informed of prices than told I must sign a credit card slip before any work was complete (only to find out later he was not licensed to demand payment before service). Then received bill with excessive charges that were tacked on that I was never informed of. Those charges could not be disputed because the credit card slip was already signed. To date, he has 42 BBB complaints against him. If you are not changing your business practises after 5 complaints you either are incompetent or you don't care as long as you are getting paid. It is my strong opinion after my experience that the later is the case concerning this company.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my fairly long life. They charged me about 3 times the going rate ( $1250 for 2 hours of drain auguring which was not successful in clearing the drain), then double-billed me on my credit card account. They did not deal with polite phone calls or emails asking that their excess charges be rescinded, not did they even correct the double-billing problem. They dodged my calls and emails. They overcharge, they make mistakes, and they do not deal with customer relations in anything even approaching a professional manner. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Had problem with my kitchen faucet, it started to leak. It took the drain man 20 minutes to fix it with my help. "So call Plumber " Did not even bring his tools used my tools. Billed me for 500.00. It's only been 3 days and the faucet is leaking again!

Asked to paid close to $500.00 for a two minutes sink drain job. I was told that usually $650.00 would be charged. I guess that should have made us happy. Do yourself a favour and don't call them - get a professional to take care of your plumbing job, and you wouldn't even pay half of the total.

They tried to charge $900 plus for under one hour of work. Total rip offs and completely unprofessional, probably the worst experience of home service I have ever had. This company should not be in business. I had them shouting at me and threatening to call the police.

I payed $3900 last month in service charges to this company. They scammed me. I am elderly and they promised not to charge a lot. Don't use them. My sink still does not work and my grandson is helping me.
