We had a small backup in our basement 18 months ago that damaged about ¼ of the carpet but the rest was old and shabby so after clean-up and prep on our part we contacted Victorious to come and advise us. For starters, Mark was extremely prompt, courteous and wonderfully clear in walking us through various options. We had thought of different kinds of underpads or sub-floorings and he was knowledgeable and straightforward in pointing out the pros and cons of each, basically invaluable in pointing us in the right direction on that. Ditto for the carpet choices: completely clear, pointing out the advantages of this or that, the impact on the space, the way the nap might or might not appear and the relative merits and trade-offs regarding price, durability, comfort, etc. We felt we were in very good hands in coming to a decision. Then, the actual work, which started pre-COVID when none of us were thinking pandemic. The installation was done quickly, efficiently and courteously. But then, to our surprise, we were called by the installers to inspect it and told there was a flaw in the very last part of the already laid carpet. Essentially the nap was reversed for about 18 inches, but it was something we would likely not have noticed immediately or put down to the fact that the carpet had to settle. The installers knew it was a flaw however and had already communicated this fact to Mark. We soon learned that the supplier acknowledged the manufacturing flaw and would agree to replace it. We could also have been given a discount. Throughout this situation Mark again gave us straightforward information and let us make up our minds without rushing to a decision. We decided to have it replaced. Once the new carpet was available – it took a couple of weeks – COVID and self-isolation had just arrived, one member of our household had what we assumed was a cold, and we felt it was important to let Mark know this. The re- installation was put off for that reason. Then, as the shutdown tightened, we agreed jointly that it should be put off even longer. So now, just this week, Victorious came in and finished the job. Full precautionary, self-distancing measures were taken on both sides and a successful, professional installation job was completed. We love the outcome. We couldn’t be more satisfied with our entire interaction with Mark and his team at Victorious. Thoughtful, considerate, professional, honest. We highly recommend this company to anyone.
