I called roto rooter for a "my husband tried to DIY a toilet" job and made it worse :) They came and took apart the toilet and tried to put it back together. After an hour or so of trying to figure things out, he suggested that it might be more sensible to buy a new toilet and start over, hoping that solved the problem. It felt like he knew there was a bigger problem all along and that he tried to do the work, to charge me, but couldn't fix the actual problem. I paid more for the call (and my toilet still isn't fixed), than a new toilet would cost me (and I asked if I should just buy a new toilet, when he came and looked at what my husband did and he wasn't up front). He suggested that if a new toilet didn't fix the problem, that we needed a camera and an inspection, which I told him that I would try with another company after we installed a new toilet to see if it worked.
While they were very prompt, I would not recommend this company, as I felt like instead of coming to see the work and quote us, he did work, knowing that a better option would have been to just start with a new toilet, saving money.
