Job done well, some items needed fixing and were fixed

Late August 2022 called for quote and signed contract.
Early September 2022 old asphalt removed and base laid
Early Nov 2022 pavement done, took one day and looks smooth and professional
Winter 2022/23 my neighbour is upset as there is much ice buildup around his garbage bins and on his sidewalk.
April 2023 weeds are springing up near my house and in some cases through the asphalt.
June 15 today a crew of two came to remove weeds, inject weedkiller and patch/tamp where the weeds grew up so far. I was promised theyd come back and do the same thing if more weeds showed up this summer or next summer. They also tried to mitigate my neighbours concerns about drainage but there is only so much one can do with how water is guided down a sloping street.
In future I would use this company. I would get the process started in June so I wouldnt have to worry about the job getting done before the asphalt plant closed for the winter. I would also know better what kind of timeline to expect for fixes. I have no quarrel with their work. I couldnt say another company would have done a better job. Communication and honest timelines are key.

Issues with repair after job was done

Update June 2023 - work was done November, 8 months ago. Many weeds are coming up next to the house and in some cases right through the asphalt. Ive called every two weeks since April, and sometimes I get a follow up phone call but it has been three months of asking and I have not been met at my house to look at the problem. Remo and Joe at West York agree there is a problem and have described the fix they are planning, but nobody has given me a date to fix. I have been given dates over the phone when they would get back to me but, then those dates come and go with no follow up or date for the work. it is honestly wearing me down at this point. If they keep putting me off, my warranty might expire before I get a fix.

Original review: I went with this company because I saw local examples of their work, and I also appreciated how the owner explained the project to me properly.
I felt good that they didnt rush the job. Occasionally it took a day or so to hear back from the office or my contact when I had a question. I understand this is a seasonal job and when things are busy, theyre busy. I didnt always hear back according to my own timeline- BUT this project was never neglected. A busy company is a hardworking company. Their quotes were in line with others I received. I didnt want to go with the lowest bidder on something thats important to my house. Ill know in a year or two how it holds up, but for now it sure looks beautiful, smooth and professional. I got the impression this company is not interested in doing anything less than a professional job that they can stand behind.

Update- my neighbours are not happy at all. Water drains slowly and onto their walkway in spots and ices up. Ive called and texted pics of the issue and really I just want someone at West York Paving to make a firm time with me and follow up on this. Ive called the office twice and texted my contact there multiple times. They are very busy. Now my neighbours are going to call them because apparently Im not successful at getting someone to come do some follow up. My neighbours are still good neighbours but they are frustrated with me.

Ill update again once resolved.
