He was recommended by servicenet (I think he has connections in the Chicago office). As servicenet agreed to reimburse $1000 for my old water heater, we decided to go with tankless system and I was recommended Nevien 210 by this installer. He said it would cost me no more than 1400 from my pocket but insisted on me paying the full amount and that he would reimburse me the difference. I paid total $3200.
He was late few days installing as he was having issues getting the system (and he wanted me to pay the delivery charges on top of that). I told him to install the regular system but he convinced me to install the tankless (I guess he make more money from tankless).
He told me that the system has full 5 years warranty (that Nevien would come to fix any issues).
Finally he installed the system and I had problems from the get go where the system would not give me hot water. I called him and he gave me a number to call for Nevien (in Scarborough). They told me that the installed needs to work with them. Finally he sent someone to look at it and it got fixed.
Also, he did not install the console (for error codes etc) and said his guy left it at my house. I have not found this in year and half so my guess is they left it somewhere else. He once told me that he would get it for me from one of the apartments. He has never given me the console.
Now I again have a problem with the system where it works for little bit after rebooting it. I called their office (MRB) yesterday and the lady said she was busy but would get back to me in few hours. There was no call after 24 hours so I called back. Someone took the call and said the lady would call me back after lunch. No call after 2 hours.
So I finally called back and lady said as per the owner I have to pay for the labor. When I said this is not the deal I was given, they asked me to call someone else to fix the problem.
Unfortunately it was a verbal agreement and I have learned to not trust anyone anymore.
