RONA Cashway Building Centre

Wasn't sure what I was looking for, asked employee who helped me find the appropriate stuff. I asked if he thought it would be cheaper elsewhere and he said he could cut the price so that it would be cheaper than other stores. Make sure to ask before buying if that the listed price is the best price they can give you.

Rona's had the best price on bamboo flooring, which in retrospect likely shouldn't have been our main buying factor.

After numerous visits to the store (sorry that person is on lunch, or sorry the flooring person isn't working today) we finally landed at the store on the same day that someone could help us make the purchase.

Thinking that Bamboo was Bamboo, the per sq ft price was going to save us hundreds of dollars.

It was my second experience laying hardwood - fairly easy with a good chop saw and a nail gun and compressor.

The problem with the flooring became apparent days later, when our dog was ripping deep scratches in floor; then the vacuum, the kids playing, etc. I'm not talking about roughhousing, just regular activities. Activities that didn't leave scratches in our existing soft pine floors.

So bamboo isn't bamboo, and seems like Rona has decided that stocking cheap flooring is good business - repeat business? forget it - will never shop there again.
