Do not order a countertop from Home Depot. They have recently centralized all orders through Toronto, and add several layers of beaurocracy . Every step of the way I have had to call to keep the process moving. The process is a shambles...avoid, avoid, avoid

Purchased Absolute Black. Two huge slabs, about 2 months apart. I was told that absolute black is absolute black, not much variance in color as others are. The colors were very different!! When their installer came to my home to fix a huge scratch he told me that the top piece was another black. I checked with another Company, who came to my home and said the same thing, different black!
Home Depot did nothing.
Going to the other Company.

There are serious management problems with their installation service. They out sources projects to some independent installers, but has no control on the quality. The one I got only care about earning more money from the project instead of doing a good Job.
After the installation, I'm very upset about the result and try to get contact with the customer service. The coordinator just ignored my request without any explanation. Then I filed an complaint and finally get someone to help me on my issue. But it takes 3 days for them to open pictures I sent over. Then the guy told me he will leave for 3 days and his co-work will help me. Then no update at all. Having hard time to deal with them. If they keep treat customers like this, no one will trust them anymore.

Contractor installed door & it was wonderful -- entire door has interchangeable glass & screen. 1 of 2 pumps on door failed -- no problem -- Andersen sent us a new one.

We had door locked open to carry in some stuff and the last yahoo tried to close it without unlocking it first. This caused part of the door to pull away from the wall.

Now the problem. .Home Depot's contractor will ONLY FIX MANUFACTURER DEFECTS.. So we paid more for a nice door because we were looking for someone who could FIX IT WHEN IT BREAKS. So I fixed it myself. Should have saved money and gone elsewhere.

MOREL OF THIS STOREY: Before you buy ask about warranty AND non warranty repairs.

Home Depot installed a front door in the middle of winter. The people at the store are definietly great but some of the contractors are a hit and miss. The front door they installed had a 6" not 4" casing. The workmanship was below par primarily due to the wrong size of door. Its functional but definitely not aesthtic. We didn't notice the casing until after the installation. The store washes their hands cleans after a certain time period so we were sol.

It`s the home depot! Of course they had what I needed. The staff was very helpful and informative. I`m sure that I will be going back in the future - I mean, it`s the home depot!! They have everything.

Happy with the look of the Doors but one of the handles broke after a week of so of use, no problem getting a replacement though.Overall very happy with the service.

Went for an estimate re granite counter tops. The quoted price was extremely expensive. They seemed to be adding $ for everything from cutting for the sink or stove top to removing the old countertop which kept adding up. Not satisfied with their service where to get an accurate estimate, there was yet another cost, non-refundable!
