Terrible customer service on appliance delivery

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT trust Home Depot to tell the truth about how little they care about delivering your appliances. They don’t know what they’re doing, and doing it very well!

Any other company could do a better job.

Buy at your own risk.

Service is terrible

Ordered Trex decking and other associated decking material on May 14 online. Website promised May 19 - 21 delivery. Nothing but a hassle ever since. On June 10 received notice the wood in my ordered was cancelled. Why? I didn’t cancel it. On June 12 some of the order was delivered. I went to the store and bought the wood I need. Am still waiting for the rest now is June 25. Local store says nothing they can do. Phoned customer support line 5 times and waited between 1 and 1.5 hrs to talk to someone. They don’t have any answers. Ask for a manager to contact me. Still waiting. I’m told they are overwhelmed with orders due to COVID-19. Doesn’t excuse why no one can get back to me with some answers. I am very disappointed.

Total Fail with Respect to Customer Service

I placed an on line order. After one week, the order had not shipped. Indeed, under "My Orders" it did not even appear. I decided to go to the store and get the product after all. I then started to try to contact Customer Service to cancel the on line order. I attempted to call the 1-800 number. I was informed the wait time was over 60 minutes, and it was recommended to send a text. I followed that recommendation. Every day, I would send a text stating that " I am still waiting". After a week, I got a text telling me that this means of contact was no longer supported. I then got an email telling me that the order that was not on my profile had shipped. I know Covid-19 slowed things down, but, it is no excuse for out and out falsehoods, incompetence and disregard for normal customer support. Completely unacceptable.

GE Profile Dishwasher

Bought GE Profile dishwasher and had two issues in three weeks with middle rack breaking and then the plastic in the door that keeps it from falling broke. Service takes 10 days to repair so the last three weeks have not seen a lot of dishwashing. It is confusing to program with very limited manual availability and it does not dry as promised.
THIS PRODUCT IS GARBAGE AND SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM IT AL ALL COST.
WHAT IS WORSE IS THAT HOME DEPOT DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT THAT THEY SELL SO IT IS BUYER BEWARE

I spoke with the Store manager on Tuesday and she was exceptional and advised that we can, if fact, return the model for credit on our account and buy a new one. Even better, they will pick up the old one when we get our new purchase delivered...Great Job Liz...Now we just have to find one that meets our expectations and based on all of the reviews that are on line, most buyers don't seem to be really satisfied with anything but then they are the ones with issues, same as me. Oh well, off we go to buy another one

Had to call police on HD employee

So this has never happened to me before, and hopefully never again will... I booked an appointment for duct cleaning. Made sure the price is clear with no hidden charges (flat fee for 10 ducts or less).

Guy comes, has a bit of an attitude, then wants to charge me for 15 'vents' (again, I had explicitly made sure we're talking 'ducts' not 'vents' when we set up the appointment). Told him I wouldn't pay the extra, only the agreed on price.

Guy starts going off on a tangent, tells me how forthcoming he was because he cleaned the filter on my dryer also and threatens me and my family (in front of my two children) that he would not leave our home until we paid.

Told him we would have no choice but to call the police if he wouldn't leave, but that I was happy to pay the agreed to amount. Well, never thought this would happen, had to call the police (who came) before he left.

Wasted tax payer money, made my family feel threatened and unsafe IN OUR OWN HOME. Unbelievable... don't by services from Home Depot is all I can say.

Reno from Hell. Terrible project management. Won't refund money for products not received

On February 20 2019 Home Depot was to start a reno on the kitchen in our condo using the north Surrey Home Depot.

Once they showed up to begin work they realized the largest counter had been left off the order and was not there. This resulted in them not being able to complete the cupboard installation. Because they only realized this part way through they had already torn out the old counter and cupboards and had installed the cupboards they had. This left the kitchen unusable. We were told it would be 2 weeks until they got the new cupboards. It was actually April 15 2019 before they installed the missing cupboards.

When they disconnected my old dishwasher they forgot to cap off the pipe so when our neighbours ran their dishwasher the dirty dishwater came spurting up into the cabinets they had just installed. There was also a second leak in another pipe caused by them. They had us find plumbers to fix the situation and Home Depot paid them but it didn't help the stink in my kitchen from the cupboards.

The measurements were not done correctly despite my sending them the specs for the new appliances and the fridge has a huge gap around it on all sides and it looks terrible. I was told they could put in trim to hide that but this was never done.

On February 21 the floor installation people were supposed to show up - they did not. They finally got there two days later.

On February 22 the counter installation people did show up but couldn't do the job because the cupboards were not installed.

They finally installed the rest of the cupboards (including replacing the damaged one) on April 15. This was 2 MONTHS later not 2 WEEKS later.

When they finally came in to measure for the counters - the quote went from $3300 to $4200.

At this time we decided we'd had enough and did not want to continue with Home Depot. We requested that they refund the money we had already paid them for the Backsplash tiles and installation. We were told they had given the tiles to someone therefore would not refund the cost. They did not give them to me so I have no clue who picked them up. This is their responsibility to keep track of - not mine.

We are now currently out the money for the backsplash, the compensation they had promised us for work days taken off to be there and they didn't show up and our kitchen is only half done.

We have tried to come to an agreement with them but they keep changing the contact person for us while telling us no one else has authority to talk to us about the case. We are now on our seventh Home Depot representative (Vikas, Rhonda, Jim, Jim #2, Chris, Steve and Lupna) and have gotten no where. Despite promises they NEVER return phone calls.

Don't use this company. When something goes wrong they will not help you and they will not honor their promises!

This company has no respect for customer! I ordered a toilet seat in January 2019, now May and not received it yet. Spent 2 hours on phone to get refunded. please save your sanity and go shop to a CANADIAN company where they will treat you better.

Washer and Dryer were damaged and Returned,

Returned a brand new LG washer that was delivered damaged, after a couple of weeks Home Depot in spite of repeated call from my wife could not trace the whereabouts of the replacement washer. We are still waiting after paying for the appliance a month ago. Not recommended

Appliance was not delivered

Do not order an appliance from Home Depot. We ordered a dishwasher, and we were told that it was going to be delivered today. Noone showed up or called us to say that they forgot to put the machine in the truck. We called their complaint hotline, and they still cannot tell us when the dishwasher will be delivered. We lost hours and wages and they would not even care. They can keep the dishwasher. We will be shopping around. What a horrible experience.

Customs Blinds

My ordeal started July 13, 2018 with the Home Depot designer coming to my home to do her job, I ordered and that was my first mistake. I agreed to pay 1/2 that day and 1/2 after install was done and I was satisfied. The product and installer came on August 10/18 to install. Prior to that my husband and I repaired and painted all of our walls in the house. The product went in and was defective, even the installer was not happy. Contacted designer and she was on vacation, left message of my dissatisfaction and wanted her to come out so we could resolve. She finally came out Sept 5/18 and did a reorder. In the meantime the 2nd half of payment came off my Mastercard without authorization 2 days after install. Reorder went in and nobody kept in contact with me. From the beginning I explained that we were leaving the country October 25th and I needed this job done before then. I had to make my own phone calls, show up at the store, contact Home Depot Customer Support and get my own file # and get strung along the way as to when the product was actually going to show up. Finally the product show up on October 16, 2018 and the order was wrong. By this time the walls that we had fixed were damaged and full of holes that the installer tried to fix, he also turned and said we didn't listen to him on measurements which was false because he came to do final measurements prior to the first order in July, 2018.
At this point in time we had enough of Home Depot's customer service, promises and workmanship, we did not want them in our home again. All we wanted was compensation which I had to fight for even after I left the country. I had to check on credit to our Mastercard everyday and then found out the person who said they put in the request in fact did not as the finance department had no record of the request. On November 21, 2018, 132 days later, over 4 months, we received compensation. We still have to fix our walls, repair the defects and possibly order new blinds for some windows but I can tell you for a fact, it will never, ever be custom anything from Home Depot.
