I was contracted by them to install flooring in the house I was building. I am a journeyman carpenter with 30 years of experience. Within a few months of install, we were having major issues with it squeaking. They sent their repair guys out, claimed that it was too tight around the exterior. They pulled off numerous baseboards only to find adequate gaps. After about 4 years they agreed to replacing the floors. I would be responsible for removal, install new flooring, baseboards, painting, furniture etc. They at the end called in an "independent" flooring inspector. Which by the way is a $150 course online, and he said that the fireplace was the issue plus 2 transition strips I siliconed down. They then proceeded to hand me a bill for the full cost of the flooring to be replaced at full price. I refused to pick it up because they said numerous times that they would cover the cost. They came back with a new number claiming it was their cost. I phoned one of my contacts and without hagling they said my cost was 3 cents more than Aftereight. So after 5 years now and living in a house that sounds like it is 100, I am no further ahead than day one. Nice to see that they are not covering their installers, myself in this situation, and have an angry homeowner.
