Royer built our new home

Royer Homes have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with! They are a rarity …attentive to detail, have excellent product choices, superior craftsmanship, even use subtrades that go above and beyond. They value their business relationships, listen to the client’s wants and needs and give solid advice.
A company with integrity – the quality of being honest, having strong moral principles and moral uprightness. Qualities Royer and their subtrades adhered to throughout construction.
The job site was always clean. Windows remained covered until possession, floor registers were covered meaning air ducts remained free of construction debris and dust, even the outlet covers have all the screws in a vertical position. Awesome attention to detail – throughout construction and finishing.
You won’t be making a mistake by having Royer build your home. We are very appreciative and beyond satisfied with our new residence. Very happy clients!!

New home

The work was very high quality. Dennis and Dan have gone out of their way to ensure we are happy with our purchase.
There were a few minor imperfections we noticed after living in the house for a few weeks. They promptly responded and the work was completed to our satisfaction.

Why choose Royer? Here's why:

I live in Edmonton, Alberta and I can easily say there is a plethora of builders to choose from when contemplating building a new home.
I started my search right here on HomeStars reading the reviews of others. I then migrated to google, facebook and other sites - doing my due diligence in my search for a builder that met my tough list of requirements. Long story short, I chose Royer and it was truly one of the best decisions of my life.

Royer brings the very best to the table and I could write a novel about why they stand a cut above. Royer was not my first home builder, but they will absolutely be my last. I recommend them for so many reasons and here is a short list of them:

They are not the cheapest builder, but they are not outrageous either. Their pricing is more than justified by the outstanding quality and workmanship that go into their homes.
Our house went up in a newer neighborhood and I can't even count how many neighbors came to tell us what they witnessed. Word of mouth spread about the extra stuff they saw this company doing. The neighbours talked about the care and thought put into the project.
My one neighbour said to me as he shook his head at the cracks on his driveway - "I wish my builder had thought to do that..." referring to something as simple as watering what would become my garage pad and driveway for an entire day.
Even something like the Rebar used was not missed by the many eyes of the community. Ours was much larger than what other builders were typically using.
This is another perk of using a small builder. What costs them perhaps only a few hundred dollars to upgrade the bones of the house is a standard for Royer, but when you get a mass builder - the bill of those few hundred dollars gets pretty big pretty fast and I have seen what cut corners cost in the long run.

Royer homes have amazing trades people too. You won't see a cycle of new faces running around your precious home either. They use the same trades for years and years. It's like an extended family of people who can all work harmoniously, who all know the high expectations, who all know they are accountable, and who all take pride in what they do.

I cannot begin to describe the joy I felt walking into the home and seeing one guy lovingly smoothing and eyeballing his railings, then grinning down at me from the top of the stairs with a huge smile - saying proudly: "Isn't it BEAUTIFUL!"
...Or when Dan came out and literally glowed with pride as he reviewed room by room with us.
...Or when Ken or Craig or Alan promptly took care of our questions, concerns and minor deficiencies.
...or when the painter finished his touch ups so perfectly that they I'd never had known they were there.

With Royer - they get back to you, they walk the talk and they genuinely love what they do. Denis built his company on solid principles and great business ethics and Dan continues to raise the bar. The most obvious thing I noticed was that Dan doesn't have to drag his team to perform. They do so out of their own pride and sense of accomplishment. They go to work to do a great job, not just get paid. It's in everything we witnessed and even those we didn't but the neighbors did.
Royer is composed of the best Brand Ambassadors. Every person contributing to the beautiful work they do.
Our home is our oasis and it is truly a joy to come home to.

On a final note - It was my fathers dream to see this house built. He had terminal cancer and he fought so hard to see it through. Sadly he was not there for the end, but seeing this home develop gave him so much joy! Erin was amazing. She rallied to get me progress pictures for my dad and every "OMG...oh jeeze that's beautiful!"...that passed from his mouth, was something I will never forget. She is organized and so very personable.

This is a team that listens to you, and truly wants to build the home of your dreams. Dan said it so eloquently - when he said - it's MY NAME on that house.

Another outstanding thing that did not escape attention was the business ethics even on an internal and environmental scale. While other houses went up in the vicinity, Royer was the only one to provide a port-a-potty for the workers. While I strolled along the growing neighborhood, noticing blown debris along the streets - I was pleased that Royer kept our property clean and tight. No trash strewn about in or around the work-site. I love that Royer was considerate not just to their clients, but also to their trades and even nature.

It was a pleasure building with Royer. Never did I regret that decision and if you are in the market to build an oasis of your own - choose Royer, and neither will you.

New Home Build - Forrest Heights

We cannot say enough great things about Royer Homes; from start to finish they made our custom home buying/building experience something we will not soon forget. Right from day one they showed their appreciation to work with us and did not let that go, even when we signed the initial papers. They were attentive to every detail (EVERY detail) and ensured when we came to take possession things were exactly how they were supposed to be. Any home buying/building can be a tough process but Royer Homes made it a memorable one, all the way through. We would highly recommend Royer homes to anyone and we still do, as we have visitors from near and far comment on the smallest of details in our home. Thank you for the experience and the house we now call home.

New Home Build

We have had many friends and family members go through the process of building new homes in the past 5-10 years. Many of them have said how hard it is to build, that they fought with their builder every step of the way. I can assure you, that the building experience with Royer homes was a very easy one. Without question we chose the right builder!Right from the first meetings up to possession of our new home, it was very evident that Royer, and all of their employees, care very much about the quality of their product and they care just as much about getting their customers the home they want. It was very easy to trust that the right thing was being done for the home, and for us, at all times. Royer is totally custom, so there are no pre-determined plans that they try to fit to you. They take your interests and wants and design something that will fit you and your family in the best way possible. This was done over a few meetings, and drawings, and re-drawings, but at no point did it seem like this was an issue. Dan, Kristin, and Erin, had many great suggestions for us, and any thoughts that we had were taken seriously and worked into the plans. Royer wanted to get the best home for our family, and they definitely did. Our new home is so incredibly functional, we dont miss our previous home for a second. We have a great example of how much Royer cares about their customers. We moved in just before the Canada Day long weekend this summer. Once we got settled in and started to use the home we ended up having our plumbing back up, but didnt noticed this until 11:30 PM. I sent a text to Dan, hoping that we might get a response the next morning. Knowing how the Royer experience works, I shouldnt have been surprised that I received a call right away. Before 9:00 AM the next morning, Canada Day, Craig and a plumber were at our house diagnosing and fixing the problem. They had everything fixed in just over an hour. At the same time Dan had texted me that if the problem ended up being more serious than a quick fix, that I should take my family to a hotel and that he would take care of it. Thats what I call service!! I have serious doubts that many of the other bigger builders would have responded so quickly, fixed the problem, and offered another solution if it was going to take longer to fix. All of this on a long weekend. Thanks to Dan, Dennis, Kristin, Erin, Vern, Craig, and Alan and all the other Royer employees and trades people for making our house so great. They were/are all so easy to work with! We love our new home and love showing off Royers great work to all of our family and friends!

Thank you so much for the kind words! It's so nice to hear that the new home is working so well for you and your family. Thanks for mentioning the design process and our response time on important issues. We love doing new and unique things, so working with you to come up with something perfect for you and your family is actually the best part of our job. With regard to handling issues in a timely manner... It is never easy to achieve that, but it's never acceptable not to. This is perhaps one of the largest purchases you will ever make and with that we have to handle issues with the same level of seriousness. We are consumers too and we know the frustrations of not getting proper service when a situation demands it. I am so thankful that our team took good care of you during what was an embarrassing ordeal for us and a big inconvenience for you. I am especially grateful of your extremely positive review even after that issue. I wish you years of wonderful memories in your brand new home!

Very Sincerely,
Dan Royer

Built our house

An honest trusting work relationship is very important to us and that is what we believe we received when we signed on with Royer Homes Ltd. The team were friendly, polite, approachable, had a sense of humor, and always professional. Suggestions, options and opinions were shared and discussed to help ensure our house turned out the way we wanted it to. Royer consistently kept us current on the progress of our home. During our extended absence from the province we were even sent pictures which showed what the stage of development was. Royer holds a high regard for safety at their work sites. Once our house had a locked door on it all we had to do to view it was call the company and they arranged to have one of their team members accompany us. When we were presented with the keys to our new home we were assured that our working relationship did not end there. After taking possession we noted a few deficiencies. Royer is standing by their word and the appropriate trades people are completing the repairs. Royer identified that they keep a clean work site during their builds. This is not only a nice curb appeal but it makes for an easier safer access to the property and house.
Thank you Dennis, Dan, Vern, Alan, Craig and the wonderful lady on the team, Erin! Would we recommend Royer Home Ltd to others? Yes and we already have!

New home build

No build is ever perfect however we would say this is pretty darn close to perfect!! When issues arose, Royer Homes made sure to meet with us in person to discuss the issue and potential solutions. The workmanship is beyond what we expected - the quality is definitely there, the finished product is beautiful and well-built, and there are things that are standard which we would not have even considered. We have had nothing but positive things to share with friends about Royer Homes. Starting with the design phase, our needs were taken into account and a design layout that works perfect for our family was created. We had guidance with the finishing choices...which was very beneficial for us as we could not envision the big picture. We actually found we asked Royer Homes on many occasion what they recommended. Overall it was a happy experience and we continue to enjoy our home.

Built a new home

We had the opportunity to build a new home and Royer Homes has been a company that we have been familiar with for over 30 years. We were treated with the utmost respect and we were listened too. Our ideas and vision of the type of home we wanted were developed by Dan and presented to us. They took a chance on building a smaller home for "empty nesters" who wanted to downsize the size of there home with less yard, but still have the conveniences of a home. They put it to paper and built this for us.
Throughout the build of our home, we were allowed to access the premise, with their supervision, to view the progress. This allowed us to see the development and the quality of the workmanship. When we noted something, where we had a question, or requested a change, we were contacted and provided with an explanation of what was happening or that the change could take place or be corrected. In other words the "communication" was always there.
We are extremely happy with the home that Royer Homes has built for us. The quality of workmanship is very good and this shows in that we have not had to call for much service to be done after taking possession. On the few minor items that required service work, the followup and timeliness has been superior. We have had no issues.
Neighbors have asked how has our experience been with Royer Homes and I continually say, they have been great to deal with, build a quality product and have been exceptional to us.

Thanks for the excellent review. I suspect that most purchasers these days look for reviews online, so we are very grateful for you taking the time to write this review. I know that you downsized, but that is the biggest little bungalow we have ever built. I have mentioned to my wife many times that it is the home I would love to move in to in our retirement years. Thanks so much for mentioning communication. I know we do so much via email these days, but there's nothing like a phone conversation or a site meeting every once in a while to make sure everyone is on the same page and that nobody is feeling like they aren't being heard or valued. Thank you very much for spreading the word about Royer Homes... I know you have done so to passers by, so please know that we are extremely appreciative of what you do for us.

Sincerely,

Dan Royer

New house built

I had a dream house in my mind and they helped me to make it real. I wanted to have the basement open up and be part of the living area not a dark dungeon. They did beg and explained that if I had the TV room with open spindles at the bottom of the stars the sound would transfer upstairs like a chimney and by modifying my idea with glass would make everyone sleep better. It took a lot to convince me, but I am so Happy they had. You do not hear anything radiate from the TV. The rest of the Basement does allow some sound to travel. It was my dream basement but their building knowledge that made it work.
