I just had a new steel roof installed by New Steel Roofers. I decided to go with the Stone Coated Slate Roof as you can walk on it. The sales person, Chris was very helpful in answering our questions and making a recommendation on which style of roof to go with. The roofer who did the installation was Viktor and he did an incredible job. I could not believe that one person could have done all that work in 4 days. He worked very quickly and put in long days with only taking a short break for lunch. I could see that he took great pride in his work. Viktor answered any questions that I had and was always very polite and respectful of our properly. When he was done he made sure everything was cleaned up. Viktor is a great asset to your company. I recommend New Steel Roofers to anyone thinking of getting a steel roof.

I was looking for a company to replace my shingles after the 2018 wind storms. Luckily I came across a video by famous Toronto interior designer Mr. Peloso describing the process of installing a metal shingles on his own house.

The metal shingles were designed and installed by a company called New Steel Roofers. So I called them up.

Chris, the salesperson was knowledgeable about metal roofing products and advised on the benefits of the hidden fasteners used by the painted slate. No exposed fasteners = a more durable, water tight installation. The metal shingles are installed over the existing asphalt, which is first wrapped with a water-tight membrane. Ridge venting was also added to the roof to improve the overall ventilation.

The installation was done over the winter in 2018 by an expert crew.

I've had no more shingles falling off the roof since then!

I hired NSR to install a steel roof on my house in March 2020. While they fulfilled their initial obligation: A new steel roof is on my house. I am not satisfied with the workmanship and the lack of response to honour the warranty. Bottom line: I would NOT do business with them again.

I decided on long steel panels with unexposed fasteners because of the low pitch of my roof. However, this was misleading as several dozen exposed fasteners were used along the edges of my roof and at some joints. I also expected single long steel panels from the edge of my roof to the peak. Two panels were required, one overlapping the other, joined with fasteners and sealant along the middle of the roof.

There are rubber washers underneath all these fasteners to prevent leaks. The fasteners were overtorqued so that the rubber squeezed out, exposing them to sunlight, which will reduce their lifespan (spot for leaking & corrosion).

I also have been hearing "popping" noises throughout the day. I suspect temperature changes cause the steel panels to expand and contract. Since the panels are fixed onto the roof, they are not allowed to move and rub up against each other or the fasteners. Since I have vaulted ceilings and no attic, the sound transmits into my house.

Also, caulking and gaskets used to seal the panels to the roof vents have started to separate/tear. NSR have yet to come in to do a service call.

The sad thing is that a simple Internet search show solutions for thermal expansion, unexposed fasteners, and installing long steel panels. NSR was very communicative - until they received final payment. I do not expect for them to honour any warranties.

I have only compliments for New Steel Roofing from the time of the guaranteed quote to the completion of the job. I appreciate that they called to make sure we were absolutely satisfied with the work before they asked for the final payment, i.e. the remainder after the 10% deposit. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and the installation team was very professional and finished all work promptly and without problems. They cleaned up so well you would never know they were here. We love our new Metstar Shake Stone-Coated Roof and have received many positive comments from our neighbours. We highly recommend New Steel Roofers for anyone looking to replace their roof with one with a 50-year warranty. No need to keep repairing an asphalt roof, this one will last. We decided to go with a steel roof because this will be our forever home so a 50 year guarantee means that we will never have to put a new roof on our home for the foreseeable future.

We engaged with New Steel Roofers as they had some of the most positive reviews on HomeStars and they did not disappoint. Jennifer came over and did an excellent job explaining the product options and the process.

The project started on time in Feburary and completed within a few days after they started. The guys were courteous and clean.

Since completion, many neighbours have shared compliments on how great it looks! We went with the Stone Coated Slate in Charcoal and it looks amazing. Black eaves troughs and down spouts complete the clean and functional look.

We needed to replace our 14-yr. old shingle roof (the original builders' roof) and decided a metal roof made the most economic sense. We got quotes from several metal roofing companies but I must say that Jennifer from New Steel was by far and away the most informed, helpful and upfront about timing, costs etc. After visiting several houses where New Steel had provided a roof we opted for the stone-coated option as we don't like the shiny look of many steel roofs. We signed the contract in October with an agreement that it would be completed before the end of the year. The weather became most uncooperative but despite this New Steel were able to proceed with the work and did, indeed, get finished by just after Xmas - working through cold days and icy storms! All the New Steel employees are very professional and courteous. There was little noise or disruption during the install, which lasted precisely as long as they had quoted - what a pleasant surprise! We are delighted with the look of our new roof, it has excited numerous positive comments from our neighbours and we would not hesitate to recommend New Steel to anyone looking for a steel roof.

We originally hired another company who was slightly less expensive than the quote we got from New Steel. However, that company never showed up. After paying a deposit we waited months to get any information. No install date was set, winter came and no help was provided.

We turned to New Steel for help and were not disappointed. They were easy to reach and agreed to honour their original quote from months earlier. The crew arrived within days, and the job was complete in a week - and on budget.

We recently had our shingle roof (of roughly 15 years) replaced. The shingles were disintegrating, and we couldn’t put it off any longer. I wanted to do a metal roof because my family put one on our cottage 20 years ago, and it hasn’t aged a day.

We met Denis the sales representative at the Ottawa Home Show and he was a knowledgable, trustworthy gentleman who sold us on New Steel Roofers, as they are not only an installer but a supplier to other metal roof companies. Holly the coordinator was indispensable in acquiring the materials, setting up the job, and taking care of all the paperwork. Chris the project manager was terrific in coordinating the crew, who managed to install our new metal roof in a single day. Yves and his workers arrived early, had beautiful weather for installing a roof, did a tremendous job in terms of craftsmanship, and an excellent job in cleaning up after the job (leaving almost no debris or materials behind on the property).

While it was (admittedly) the expensive option for us to install a metal roof over conventional (and cheaper) shingles, I’m happy we did because the new roof comes with a 50-year transferable warranty, which will both increase our property value over time, and give us the peace-of-mind that no matter what happens with our home, the roof will never be a concern.

I got a quote in October 2018 with a great salesperson which was comparative with other steel roofing companies. Asphalt shingles quotes were about half the price of metal and need to be done every 10 to 12 years, so metal for the life of the house made sense.

In March 2019, I called up the company and spoke with Holly and asked for early installation due to a leak in my roof. Holly at New Steel Roofers was more than willing to do the install ahead of schedule. All it took were two roof installers to remove all of my old venting and piping and install venting along the entire house which allows the entire attic to breath better. The installers were at my house for 4 days and they took their time to make sure the metal panels were installed properly. The installers did not rush anything and ensured a complete and proper install.

I have had other people in the neighbourhood complement me on my roof install especially because it is different than all of the other steel roofing installations in Brampton. The roof I chose has "high albedo" which allows for high reflectivity of the sun's rays, so it should help out in the summer compared to shingles absorbing heat in the attic.

This company has been completely transparent when dealing from the quote stage to the setup and final installation stages. I am beyond happy and will definitely recommend New Steel Roofers to my work colleagues and family. I will try to post a photo soon.
