I purchased a dishwasher from Vivek at the Kitchener Canadian Appliance Source store and had some of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Vivek told me that I could pick it up on a Wednesday, and on the Tuesday I got a call from someone at the Canadian Appliance Source to inform me that my item was ready to be picked up any time after 10AM on the following day. When I drove in from out of town at 3PM on Wednesday to pick it up I was told that it hadn't arrived yet. I said that since I had been told it was ready and had made the drive in only to discover it wasn't there, they should deliver it for me. I was told they would not do this, and that I should call their customer "care" line, which I promptly did. I was put on hold, only to discover that the line drops you off hold every 6 minutes. On my 11th time calling back and waiting on hold for the 6 minute time-frame, a very harried-sounding lady finally answered my call. I explained the situation and was told that I should have known that they contract the appliance deliveries to a third party and so I should have phoned the store again before I came in. When I tried to explain how absurd this was, I was actually hung up on by the customer care person!! The next day I wanted to know if my dishwasher was in yet, so I tried to phone Vivek, only to discover that he was away for a few days. Since the individual Canadian Appliance Source stores apparently don't have individual phone numbers, I called the number that lets you check on orders. I was put on hold, and then dropped off hold again after 6 minutes! After going through this a second time I gave up and just drove back to the store, hoping that my item was in this time. The dishwasher had finally arrived, but before they would release it to me I had to sign a waiver stating there was no damage to the item. The problem was, the item was still boxed up and they would not allow me to take it out of the box to view it - they expected me to just look at the packaging and sign the form! I said that I couldn't sign to confirm that there was no damage if I couldn't see the item, and they told me they wouldn't release it to me if I wouldn't sign! So I told them to just forget it and refund my money, but they told me they couldn't refund my money in store and that I had to phone another number. Well, there was no way I was going to deal with their phone system again, so I just blindly signed the form and took the boxed dishwasher away. In a nutshell, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CANADIAN APPLIANCE SOURCE!
