I used Jays and was pleased with the people who did the move, but the final invoice was a BIG surprise. My ESTIMATED weight was much higher than the ACTUAL WEIGHT yet they still charged me the same amount, saying it saved me money because the tariff for the lower weight would have been higher. Problem is, this was never discussed NOR was it mentioned in the contract. And on top of it, even the final bill didn't reflect this 'mystery tariff' . Instead, it just reflected the original estimated total. Less than transparent and highly unethical.
If you do use follow this tip; ask for the various tariffs per weight IN WRITING. Example, if they estimate your move at 5,000 pounds ask what it would be at 6,000 or at 4,000. Don't assume the estimated weight will be accurate or that the tariff they quote per pound will stay the same!
