The roof on our home needed replacing. Given the size and complexity of the project, we were very careful in choosing a contractor. J. Stewart Roofing was recommended by a neighbour and also had good ratings on Homestars. I was not disappointed. John and his team provided exceptional service. John took photos before, during and after the work, which helped as much of our roof is not visible from ground level, and thoroughly explained what would be done. His crew was pleasant and efficient and left the job site spotless at the end of each day. His price was very fair compared to others. I am pleased to say the new roof looks spectacular. We would definitely recommend this company.

I just had my entire roof redone by J. Stewart roofing and I am 100% satisfied. I also had them remove an unused chimney up to the roofline and reframe over it. Throughout the whole process from initial quote (more than 2 years ago, revised quote, work scheduling, final inspection), John made sure I was happy and answered all my questions.

I have an old house with a few complexities including additions at the back and front and poor existing venting in the attic. John and his team made sure to find solutions for all the issues and provided a quality final product.

When John visited the house for the initial quote, he made sure to explain all the products they were planning the use and the reasons why it was appropriate on my house. Their quote was not the cheapest in town but it was certainly the most straightforward. I knew exactly what I was paying for and why. They also did not ask to be paid (even partially) before the work was completed to my satisfaction. Given the final result, I am extremely happy I went with J. Stewart roofing. Years of experience and a stable established business clearly makes a difference.

Throughout the installation, they made sure to keep the area clean (including my neighbors properties) and picked up everything at the end of each workday. They also adapted to challenges encountered during the installation and didn’t try to charge me extra. A day after the installation was completed, John came to the house to perform a final inspection and ensure everything was done properly.

From the day I met with John Stewart who assessed the roofing needs, conscientiously sat with me and explained and showed to me what would happen up there, provided an evaluation which was extremely fair and generous by comparison to others, i waited less than one week to have a new roof! The very good humoured and respectful and seasoned roofers arrived promptly at 7am and by 1.30 they accomplished their task. John arrived the next day to examine the work. Only then did he accept payment. I am thrilled and impressed. Everyone seems to scramble about when looking for a roofer. It can be a big job, large expenditure of funds, and i've met people who have been disappointed. No need for that scramble and look no further. Really trustworthy, thorough and know their roofs. Toronto winters can be brutal and the summers scorching..pretty important to have a roof that can withstand the elements. I'm a happy customer and would recommend 100%.

John and his team are highly qualified. The work is superb. The clean up is excellent. The communication is clear and responsive. Things get done on time/on schedule and they can adjust to my needs. Quite frankly I was impressed from the start. John, the company owner explained in detail how to properly shingle a roof, what he was going to use, and why, and how he would do it differently than what Was in place. In addition he provided excellent advice regarding upgrade of our two skylights- advice we took him up on. The job went smoothly and quickly. I do know something about construction and it was clear they did everything they said they would do. Clean-up was near perfect. The roofing industry is known for some fly-by-niters who will do the job poorly and for less...but as they say, you get what you pay for. This company was professional from start to finish. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Staff are professional, courteous and fast. The property was cleaned up after each day of work and took the time to inspect the adjacent properties to ensure no debris had migrated. We were very happy with the work by J. Stewart Roofing. They were recommended to us by friends and we would likewise recommend them to others. We had the old shingles removed from our one storey addition and then new shingles with ice/water shield and synthetic underlay installed. John was very helpful throughout the quotation and decision making stage - providing valuable perspective on materials to be used, best brand recommendations and new venting options (we ended up adding 2 additional vents). The crew arrived on time and finished the job on the same day as promised. Dan, John, Darryl and Chad were efficient, responded to any questions we had and ensured the clean-up was perfect - including taking care to respect our neighbour's property. Jamie, the Production Manager, was a pleasure to work with - she provided timely information and was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our job ran smoothly. She even called me on a vacation day after our job was complete to ensure that everything had been taken care of. An excellent team!

I waited till now after a full winter to respond and will say waht a wonderful job James and his crew did on my elderly mother's home.The crew were excellent and their work superb...fully recommend James and his crew...ultimate professionals !

A couple of months ago I contacted a number of companies to quote on repairs to my roof as a number of shingles were torn or missing. At the same time I had booked another company to clean my gutters as a pine tree that hangs over the house often clogs my down-spout.

After coming to investigate, Andrew texted me a quote (with photos of the damage) that was very reasonable and included the offer of cleaning my gutters - saving me a couple hundred dollars.

Andrew showed up on time, left the site spotless, sent me follow up photos of the completed repairs and clean gutter and came in at the dollar value quoted.

Without hesitation I will use them for the next squirrel/raccoon attack on my shingles and any other roofing issue that arises. Highly recommend them!
