We purchased a new build from CCD and have been in our home over 2 years. The house is beautiful and the workmanship is of an unsurpassed quality. In particular, we have been thrilled with the service. Even though the warranty is technically over, CCD has been responsive to even very small problems. Having a great relationship with a builder that we can trust has taken the guess-work out of owning a new home and has made our transition to this great city a lot easier. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I built a custom home with City Core Developments that was completed in 2012. The entire process, from land purchase to completion of construction was smooth and efficient, despite minor setbacks associated with the weather, the occasional trade delay, and a few changes to the project scope. As mentioned by another reviewer in the forum, the process associated with building a custom home can be stressful, complex and onerous, so it is absolutely critical to ensure your expectations are aligned with your builder prior to starting. City Core did a great job ensuring our expectations were aligned and our project was completed on time and under budget. I would recommend City Core Developments to anyone wishing to build a new custom home.

We had the pleasure of working with city core developments between Oct/2012 to July/2013 on a spec home that was framed with windows and roof in place. The home was located in a neighbourhood which we wanted to live in and we wanted to have some input on the finishes and any other minor changes as are required in any custom build. Our construction manager Mark was very approachable and always responsive to any questions or concerns we had. Of coarse Wayne provided hands on expertise and advise every step of the way as well as excellent, fair and quality customer care. We have never built a home before but city core's staff was very helpful and professional throughout the whole process. The house was supposed to be complete by the end of June but due to our changes and the flood delays in Calgary, we did not moved in until the end of July. There were some additional expenses incurred with change orders every time we wanted to change or add to the original spec guidelines given to us for the home but we tried to keep that to a minimum. All costs pertaining to changes were clearly reviewed prior to payment with no hidden charges. The warranty process has been very thorough and professional so far as well. I would highly recommend City Core as a builder/contractor to anyone considering a developing with a highly professional and upscale quality home builder!

City Core was phenomenal. Once we had secured the land the build began and it progressed without drama. Our site supervisor was excellent in communication, and Wayne was excellent in communication with both myself and my wife. Without hesitation we recommend City Core Developments; they are professional, reasonable in cost, and efficient in expediting tasks on time. Good job CCD!!!!

In the fall of 2012, we purchased land from City Core Developments and commenced with plans to build a new custom home on the property.
The staff at CCD has been very helpful with all the subdivision, permit and design processes required build our new home. Some of these processes can be very difficult and time consuming but the operations staff at CCD are on top of it and expertly guided us through this process.
The design process has been very seamless and their detailed planning is resulting in our vision coming to life.
We have received accurate and very detailed reports every two weeks from the accounting group as to the ongoing expense and budget review of our project.
Our project manager has provided weekly updates on our build along with a projection of what is to be done in the coming weeks, they are very detailed and combined with the reports we are receiving from the accounting group, we are able to plan our financing for this build accordingly.
Our new home is now framed with the roof and windows in and electrical and plumbing work underway. We are very pleased with the progress and thrilled to know that we are on budget and slightly ahead of schedule at this juncture. We look forward to uploading another review as our build moves towards completion.

City Core Developments was recommended to me by a very good friend to build my dream home. I am very grateful for that recommendation. Wayne Gambell, the owner, took the time to give to me, the attention I needed to produce unique architectural elements inside and outside the home. They turned out wonderful .

Wayne, along with the City Core team, went out of there way to get the best prices possible from the sub trades and products, and then pass them on to myself, with out compromising quality. At any time I could ask Kim, the controller, where we stood on the budget. Everything was transparent and she did a great job on keeping me up to date. The home came in on budget, even with my added elements.

I too, have had great experiences on quality control, such as the " green tape " on any deficiencies in the painting or drywall.

Having been trough a few builds before, there will always be issues, don't kid yourself .. it's how it is addressed and finished that matters. All of my concerns were properly handled, minor as they were, and an excellent product was delivered. Wayne would not hand over the keys to my home until it met his high standards and then gave me a walk through inspection of my house before releasing the set of keys.

Not only am I very satisfied with City Core, I have recommended them to a friend of mine, who is currently engaged Wayne to build there dream home.

Interesting comments on this page. Having worked with various builders on over a half dozen custom homes, I wonder if the previous posters entered the relationship with City Core with realistic expectations. I also wonder about the validity of some complaints, for example I am not sure how one can back into another car and blame a garbage bin.

Our experience with City Core was excellent. CCD moved us in on the promised date, and the build actually came in under-budget. We ensured that we built some flexibility into our possession date in the event the build went over our scheduled date (as all other builders we've built with have done), however we were pleased when we walked into our beautiful new home on the date promised. The build budget came in as expected, and all overages/change orders were our own doing and at our own discretion. One must recognize change orders add time to builds, so the fact that we still moved in according to schedule was remarkable.

The quality of our home is outstanding. We constantly receive compliments on the architecture (Stephen) the millwork (Prestige), and the design choices (Lowell). Additionally, the communication we received from the project manager (Mark), and the transparency in billing and accounting (Kim) was beyond expectation.

Our opinion is that building a custom home can be a complicated and challenging experience, unless BOTH parties are realistic in their expectations and patient with each other. Things come up all the time, such is life. The key is to be solution based and collaborative.

We feel City Core Developments and owner Wayne Gambell excelled in all respects during our build, and would recommend CCD's services without hesitation.

One of the reasons I choose City Core Developments is that I heard they could professionally build my dream home. I saw a number of their homes and could see that the quality was there. I wasn't disappointed when they built mine. When I went into the home near completion, I noticed they already had green masking tape wherever they thought the quality wasn't up to the best standard. (painting imperfections/etc). They corrected everything before I took possession. I appreciated that they did this on their own without me having to say anything. In the end I have a very well built home that I will not worry about . The design was well thought out and I really appreciated it as I could tell they have learned from experience. It did take a little longer to build but I'm glad they didn't rush something to sacrifice quality in a home that will last for a long time.
