We signed a contract with Roofman on April 6th 2018 for attic insulation and shingles. We figured it would be early enough so it would be completed long before the air conditioner needed to be used. They didn't come until May 28th ( the first heat wave so the air had to be turned on). This over 7 week delay was, according to them, because of a delay in the insulation being made. When they called us to book a date we told them we had a new driveway and they assured us it would be protected. The day they arrived we told two different people that the driveway was new and to please protect it and they assured us it would be. At the end of the day we returned home to discover 2 large sink holes on our new driveway because they had parked their dumpster trailer on our driveway and then removed all of the old shingles from our roof into the dumpster and left it sit, heavy with shingles, in the same spot all day in the scorching heat. So our $6,000 driveway is ruined and short of ripping it up and re doing it now looks awful and patched. We also spent the evening cleaning up well over 250 roofing nails from our property, caulking guns that were left hanging from our eaves troughs and general garbage generated from the workers. My husband then opened the attic door to see what over $11,000 worth of insulation and shingles look like from the inside of our house( and to make sure we still had access to our attic) and they had neglected to clean the attic door so our whole house was doused in attic insulation, another 3 hours of clean up inside the house on top of the 2 hours on the outside cleaning up nails etc. When we called The Roofman to tell them how upset we were with the very poor clean up but mostly because of our new driveway that was damaged they gave us a $600 "good will credit" back, this does not come anywhere close to the price we paid for our driveway or for the hours of clean up we faced on completion of their work. We had received other quotes from different roofing companies and also from insulation companies that would have been far cheaper then The Roofman but we decided to go with them to avoid any problems with workmanship and/or clean up. We are now wishing we had gone with almost any other company!
