I will never stop being grateful that Mike was the inspector referred to me when I reached out for recommendations -- not only was his work thorough, professional, and personable but his willingness to provide *free* (FREE!) aftercare is invaluable.
A home inspection is often a grudge purchase especially for the new home buyer -- but someone like Mike makes the cost seem like the investment it is, and new home buyers should realize that many things can arise in the first few months after purchase, so the aftercare offered is likely to come in very handy. (Mike talked me in off the ledge when it seemed the insurance company wanted thousands of dollars of work done; thank you for the hand holding Mike!)

It has been 5 years to the day almost and I can safely say that Mike provided an amazing home inspection of our (once relatively new) house in Toronto. The house was a custom build so we didn't have warranty's to protect us so, before we bought, we needed a thorough home inspection. We were able to book Mike within our offer deadline and he was with us for hours talking to us about every detail from top-to-bottom; property line to every support beam inside. He pointed out dozens of code violations leftover (most small fixes but still - good to know because small problems can turn into big ones). He went one-step further and pointed out potential issues we could have run into long-term if we didn't have them resolved (i.e. that drainage on the property was poor and could have beccome a costly wet basement so we needed to address that issue as soon as possible). He was thorough, polite, he took his time and his final report helped us negotiate the sale price down by $30K (which is very rare in the hot Toronto real estate market). It's been 5 years, and Mike still takes my calls when I need to ask him questions about the house or tradesmen that he can recommend to help us keep our house maintained. If we ever sell, Mike will be our first choice to help us inspect the house before we sell (so the buyers can't negotiate us down) and also to help us in making an educated decision about the next house or cottage property we buy. I cannot praise Mike enough or thank him for all the handymen, engineers and general contractors he put us in touch with for the cosmetic work we've been doing. We would absolutely refer him to any one. His price is more than reasonable too (which was huge for us because we were first time home buyers and we needed every penny back then). We purchased our 1st home in Toronto last June and after alot of research and calls, we decided to go with Micheal Fournier from City Wide Home Inspectors. Right from the 1st call, Michael was knowledgeable, truthfull, and gave us a clear perspective as to what his inspection would include and what was not included. He was upfront as to what he could comment on, and what was impossible for him to comment on - due to physical access and no visibility.

He was on time, thorough and professional. Since purchasing the home, we've undergone a large renovation project and have been happy to be able to address every item which Michael had addressed on his lift of items to address based on his inspection. We are extremely pleased with his report and would not hesitate in both using him again, and recommend him to friends. From his report, we address little and large issue, which we believed not only saved us money, but helped ensure the small issue did not become a large problem later down the road.

Michael had came highly recommended by a friend, and we are very happy with the service and his findings.
