I woke up Saturday morning (Jan. 29/2022) not wanting to get out of bed because of the cold. When I regained full consciousness I realized that it was too cold. I thought that it might be the thermostat battery again... Nope. My 29 year old furnace was dead and it was 12 degrees Celsius in the house.
I called Woodbridge GTA Climate Care's after hours and they took my info and called me back. The technician would be at my house between 10 am and noon. He was there around 11 am. They have this really nice system that tells you that the tech is on the way and you can follow his vehicle on a map! This tech performed last rites.
About an hour later I got a call from their salesperson Dee and she was at my house to take measurements and prepare the order. By 3:30 I had quotes and a plan.
I was worried about paying for a new furnace but they have a 12 months no payment and no interest program so I have time to figure things out. This was a relief.
The furnace was installed Tuesday Feb. 1. I don't have a lot of experience with furnace installations but that seems like fairly quick turn around. It takes 3 people an entire day to install a furnace so I was very happy that they were available.
The installers were very diligent and cleaned up after themselves. I have a separate basement entrance so that was convenient for them and for me not having them bring materials through my home. They were prepared with booties for that but I imagine the separate entrance made them happy too.
All along the way Dee kept me informed of the process and followed up on the installation.
I have been using Woodbridge GTA Climate Care for maintenance for years and have always been happy with their professionalism and courtesy.
I didn't do any comparison shopping (no time) but I don't think their prices were out of line.
I got a furnace and a heat pump... well, the heat pump will be installed soon. I am happy to have heat! I can wait for the pump.
