My 8 year old Samsung Dryer (dv50f9a8evp/ac) gave up heating, even though the drum rotated and no other issues. The display didn't show-up any error neither the Samsung Care app images. Contacted few top rated people from Homestars. All gave nearly similar quotes for heating issue , Joe called me and I proceeded with him, as he explained the possible issues which could be a less cost thermal fuse or higher cost replacement of the heater assembly - which could be a rare situation .
He arranged his partner Dany to visit. Dany who servers my area , called me and explained the same. He showed up promptly as scheduled. To my bad, the issue was on the heater coil element. Dany showed me with the multimeter reading from the faulty unit. The price was discussed upfront before the replacement of a new Samsung heater assembly unit. As a Samsung service man , he carried the original spare units in his van, so no delay for parts. The Dryer internal housing case was also vacuumed and cleaned by him.
He explained about the expected burning smell from the new heating coil during the initial use , preventing future brake downs, and also about the 2 month parts & 1 month labor warranty, incase of a manufacture defect.
Satisfied with the job , nice team (Joe/Dany) to get the service quickly.
