I had a completely unsatisfactory experience with Sears and will never buy from Sears again. I purchased 3 items from Sears, 2 bookcases and an ottoman. The expected date was 3 weeks away and was to be between 7am and 5pm. The evening before the delivery date, I got a phone call saying the bookcases were not available so that order was cancelled. I stated that I still wanted to ottoman delivered the next day.
I took the day off work and waited around all day. No delivery. Finally, at 4:45, I called. The customer service person told me the ottoman was available in 3 to 5 days. I said, "it was to be delivered today". She told me that it wasn't going to be. I cancelled the ordered.
3 days after the expected delivery date, I got an email telling me the bookcases were not available. And a few days beyond that, I got an email telling me the ottoman was unavailable.... a week after it was to be delivered and a week after it was cancelled!
I wrote Sears and email telling them about it. The email form asked if I wanted to be contacted by phone or by email. I checked phone. About 2 weeks later, I got a standard email saying,"Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for shopping at Sears!". Ridiculous
