6 years later I learn of Home Stars.

The deck built by Royal Decks is solid and going strong. Wood is in great shape (stain every 2-3 years). The railings and stairs are like new.

Royal Decks was recommended to us by a friend and were delightfully professional from start to finish. The work came in on time and on budget, the building team was pleasant and tidy, communication throughout was excellent, and we are very pleased with the finished product. Highly recommended!

We had a 34’x16’ elevated panoramic deck which required engineering considering it was 10’ above ground. See pictures. Miro is a professional engineer and designs the construction which is implemented by excellent crews. Our good friend One Side also had one done at the same time with plate grass railing which did not require a top rail. We chose to have an iron and aluminum railings on both structures. The two man crews were excellent on both jobs. Great clean up every day and more than willing to do the little extras. Everything necessitates a good plan and Miro’s experience is paramount if the design is somewhat out of the ordinary, which ours certainly was. Weather is always a major factor but scheduling an early booking will generally get your deck finished within a reasonable margin. It is hard to give Miro and his crew a higher rating than 10 out of 10.

Miro and his team worked diligently and completed the project in a timely fashion. We were very please. Miro also took care of any other issues that came up along the way and addressed them promptly.

Our experience was nothing but the best. It was worth every penny. Miro was very professional, helped with the design, and was great to work with. Harley, who did the work, was absolutely excellent. He took great pride in his work and did a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend Royal Decks.

We love our new deck! A big thank you to Royal Decks for building it on time and on budget. After one of the big box home improvement stores failed to show up (twice) we renewed our search and selected Royal Decks to build our deck. Miro provided a detailed design and cost estimate, and arranged for us to see an example of their work. Monica helped with the selection of materials, and Harley completed the build on top of 10-foot steel helical piles! We are very satisfied with the quality of the workmanship and materials. Bring on the BBQ!

I don't normally take the time to write a review, but in this instance I had to take a few moments to express my gratitude. After completing an exhausted search in finding the right deck builder for our backyard, I had the pleasure of coming across Royal Decks. From the moment I met Julian (our design consultant) I knew we found the right company to complete the job to my high standards. Julian had promptly and courteously answered all our questions throughout the deck build and responded to all of my many, many emails regarding design changes. Harley who actually built our deck is an extremely talented craftsman. I just can't say enough about his attention to detail, talent and skill-set. Extremely polite. Always kept the job sight as clean as possible and went out of his way to keep us happy when we asked for design tweaks. If you decide to go with Royal Decks, make sure you ask for Harley to build your deck. You won't regret it! Great job Royal Decks, my wife and I are couldn't be happier.

Miro and his team have transformed our backyard. We had a general idea of what we wanted; Miro suggested the best materials to meet our needs and the best colors to match our house. He provided us with drawings and offered alternative choices, breaking down the costs of each choice. Harley and Jordan built the deck frame, and the deck itself, exceeding our expectations through their skilled professionalism and dedication to quality. Harley took the time to explain any major points and included our input for any decisions being made along the way. Harley and Jordan worked very hard to make everything perfect. We also had a side stone patio and walkway put in; this was handled by Chris and his team at Buildoreno, and they did an amazing job. The team ran into a few problems because our house is at an angle on the lot, but they made some adjustment to the patio layout and it all worked out in the end. Chris also went out of his way to suggest a lighter stone color to suit our deck when he went to pick out the supplies; this lighter color was a better match than our original choice. Overall we are delighted with our new deck and patio, and will recommend Royal Decks to all our friends. Thanks so much to Miro and his team for their excellent work!!

When we decided to proceed with the construction of a new deck and stone patio in our backyard we discovered we did not know many contractors who might be able to do the job for us. We requested a contractor we had used previously to quote on the job which came in quite high. We wanted to get a second quote and my wife had seen a Royal Decks truck earlier that day so we gave them a call. I am very glad that we did. Their quote came in almost 30% less than the previous contractor. We made an appointment to have Miro visit our house and check the site and the deck design we had in mind. Miro was punctual on that day and every other day when he said he was going to visit our house and check the status of the job. The crew he assigned to our project were efficient and clearly knew what they were doing. We are extremely pleased with the results and have received nothing but positive comments from family, friends and neighbours who have come over to have a look. Our new deck and patio have substantially added to our home's living space and we have enjoyed it regularly since its completion. Miro was very professional in the way he conducted his business, he has an excellent crew who are efficient and knowledgeable and they went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the product. I would not hesitate to refer Miro and Royal Decks to friends and family. (in fact my sister in law has already taken down the contact information).

Royal Decks literally made our dream come true! We approached Miro with a few hand drawn sketches of the kind of deck we wanted. He listened, asked lots of questions, and mapped out all the possibilities for us with smart suggestions on how to keep costs on track. He created amazing 3D renderings of the new deck and our house - so we could visualize exactly what we wanted, in terms of colours and shapes before signing off and starting to build. This sales process really sets them apart - it was so fun.
Miro laid out a clear schedule for the build, never went over budget, and was always available if we had questions. On day 1 of the build, Steve the master carpenter showed up with Jay and worked meticulously and efficiently to get everything done on schedule. We are super picky about details and these guys did everything so well. If you go with Royal Decks - ask for Steve, he is a true craftsman who takes tremendous pride in his work. He came to work on weekends, and he always had great suggestions on how to make sure so things turned out awesome (how we should arrange the deck lights, trim the steps etc...). Unlike other contractors who just follow their work orders blindly, these guys care so much about the finished product and how it will function for the customer. That made all the difference for us. Steve and Jay were amazing. Our deck is so much better than we hoped. We love it. Thanks guys!
