Barbara was extremely helpful. She spent 2 hrs with us at a Tile Store. She helped us coordinate tile for floors, walls and a back splash. She provided guidance for wall colours and was very respectful of our vision and our budget .

We worked with Barbara on a design consultation for our new condo. She demonstrated great professionalism, and provided useful design insights and ideas which met out expectations. She spent time understanding the requirements, and provided recommendations that were practical. Overall, we were satisfied with the experience.

Nikka Design was hired to decorate a large holiday tree. Barbara’s professional approach to the project was very impressive. She prepared a quote that covered the complete scope, including sourcing, purchasing, delivery, the installation of lights and ornaments. She even included the option of a follow-up visit the first week of January to tear it all down and pack and label the decorations in storage bins. All timelines were met, the tree looked fabulous and Barbara was a delight to work with.

"We underwent a major renovation to a century home that lasted nearly 8 months. The work included gutting 2 bathrooms and the master bedroom, rewiring the electricity, sanding floors on 2 levels, and repairing some structural problems that were uncovered during the renovation.
We stayed in the house throughout this time which added additional stress to the process. We found the whole experience rather daunting.

Barbara helped us to put together the living/dining room area in a newly built house that we purchased. We were pretty much starting from scratch and didn't really know where to start to make the room feel like home.

Through her process, she very quickly got a feel for our design tastes and was able to show us a number of colour combinations and materials that were perfect for us. She helped out with making the best use out the layout of the space - something my husband I could not agree on before Barbara found options that neither of us had the eye to see.

After deciding on colour combinations (we used two different tones in the space) window treatments, lighting, and accessories; Barbara made it all happen. She confirmed materials and sizing, and coordinated ordering, delivery and installation. It truly saved a lot of time and frustration.

Barbara is also an eco-friendly designer. All the materials, fabrics and paints that she recommends in her work are environmentally-friendly. We love the room and loved the process.

Barbara recently completed a Living and Dining Room Redecoration for us. She incorporated a couple of pieces that we wished to keep and directed us to the remaining eclectic choices that achieved the more contemporary look we wanted. She recommended some beautiful wall paper and a glimmering dining room light fixture that sparkles the whole room. The colours chosen for all the items are subdued and yet impactful. She connected us with the required trades and supervised the work from start to finish. Her work was timely and on budget. Will look forward to our next project with her.

Barbara first helped us with our upstairs renovation where we took a dark awkward floor design and converted it into a bright, welcoming space. Her attention to detail resulted in better use of space and functionality. As we started planning our main floor renovation, we immediately went to her to review our ideas. She listened to what our needs are now and what we plan to do five years from now and she provided great options for floor design, storage ideas and managing the day to day clutter of a home office, and kids' school work and activities. We found it invaluable to start our renovations with her advice.

I asked Barbara from Nikka Design to help me redesign my condo. I was looking to add more storage and make my space more usable for entertaining.
