Moveworks Inc

I have moved 4 times in the last 15 years. The first three times, I moved myself. Last month, for the first time, I hired a mover to move me. The moving company I hired was Moveworks and they did a terrific job. I'll never move myself again. Thanks guys. No back pain in Scarborough.

On Tuesday August 25, 2009 our move was executed by Moveworks. Michael came in May to give us a quote and we arranged for the full packing and moving service. The packers came on Thursday and Friday before the move and carefully wrapped and packed the entire contents of our home. The packers were amazing. The only items we had to deal with were the items in the fridge and our freezer. It was money very well spent.
On move day, Sam and his crew came to our home and introduced themselves. They put down floor runners and brought in 10 wardrobes. They expertly shrink wrapped the upholstered furniture, mattresses, and box springs. They blanket wrapped the wooden furniture. They efficiently packed the truck and went to our new home. Everything was put where it belonged and the boxes in the right rooms. The men were excellent workers, and polite and cheerful. The price at the end of the day was exactly what Michael had quoted us. I will be recommending Moveworks to our family and friends.

Moveworks packed up and moved my belongings in a professional and efficient manner. The guys worked quickly and carefully - everything arrived and was unloaded without damage.

The crew was respectful of both the home I was vacating and the one I was moving in to.

Office staff was friendly and polite even though it was only an inner city move and not a big budget cross country expedition.

On June 17, 2009 we met with Mike to obtain an estimate for our move on Aug. 24. He answered all our questions and gave uss a guaranteed written quote. On moving day, Abraham introduced himself and his crew and went to work. They provide wardrobes, shrink wrap, floor runners, and blankets. They move carefully and efficiently and put all our furniture in our new home. We were were charged exactly the price. Thank you moveworks.

I was very pleased with Moveworks on both occasions when we used them for moving. The staff were polite & cheerful. They work swiftly and well together with little direction from me. In other words they knew their jobs. I had one particularly difficult piece to move down 2 flights of stairs (winding stairs). They talked to each other as they went down... they were all careful and in the end there was not one mark on the fresh paint of the stairwell. I would use them again without hesitation.

On Thursday August 20, 2009 I moved from Mississauga to downtown Toronto. I have a lot of very expensive music equipment and I was extremely nervous about hiring a company to move this . When Ben came and gave me the estimate, he was able to reassure me that bubble wrap and corrogated cardboard would be the best way to protect my good stuff. It took a great deal of time to carefully wrap everything but in the long run it was certainly worth it. We had a safe and successful move. Thank you Ben for the good advice and thank you to Moe and his careful crew from Moveworks.
The experience passed on from a good company can make all the difference to the safety of your belongings. I will tell my friends to hire you as well. Thanks again.

I recently lost my husband and it was with great sorrow that I left my condo on Dundas St. in Etobicoke. We had moved there when our 4 children had grown up and married and we loved the neighbourhood. I was greatly appreciative of the help from Michael and Ann Thornton this week-end. Michael had come out and explained what needed to be done and what it would cost. He very patiently listed to my qustions and answered them all. He made the arrangements for everything I needed done. My belongings were safely packed up on Friday by 3 very cheerful,helpful ladies. On Saturday the 3 movers came and safely moved my belongings to my new seniors condo. Ray, Paul, and Alex put down floor runners, used shrink wrap, and blankets to protect my things. They were polite, helpful, and very careful. They seemed to understand how hard it was for me to leave behind the memories I had of my husband. Michael gave me a fair price and it was actually completed 1/2 an hour sooner. I will be recommending Moveworks to my family and friends in the future.

Sounds like a familiar story. Everything starts off very professional and organized until the contract was signed. Then the 'service delivery' issues start. Moving materials delivered late and only after several panicky phone calls, not being able to contact people in the office during business hours, not getting callbacks when they say they will, etc. Our furniture was going into storage at their warehouse for a year and 4 days before the move we were told they didn't have room and we'd have to make other arrangements. This after committing in our contract to store our contents and committing to a price. The actual movers were very good but they weren't Moveworks employees and trucks- rather, they were Top Movers. On the day of our move, we're arranging for storage space that we were told we needed which turned out to be less than what was required which resulted in additional expense.

The whole move left us angry, stressed and feeling completely let down.

My husband met with a rep from Moveworks and at the meeting everything seemed very professional. The furniture was expertly checked and the price was expertly put together for us!!! Having no prior experience with movers we felt quite safe but still contacted other moving companies. After having met with other companies we decided to go with Moveworks. On the day of our move, 3 men came late, had significant difficulty backing up the truck and were unprofessional. They started getting our furniture ready to move and no drop cloths put down as promised, the wardrobes that were promised were destroyed to the point they were really ineffective in moving any clothing. When my husband spoke to the men about the drop cloths they brought out these dirty old blankets that were dusty and full of what appeared to be straw! Within 2hrs: break no1, which took us by surprise. Note: we were told that the workers will be quick and take only a lunch break. They smoked in the back of the truck with all of our furniture because it was raining. My husband had to speak to them about that seeing we are non-smokers. They had difficulty moving our furniture and said it was too heavy so my husband, a neighbour, myself and our 75-year old aunt helped move furniture. My dad came up later to move the washer and dryer because we were concerned about the ability of the so-called professional we had hired to move our belongings. They damaged an antique dresser, sofa table, leather couch. We were told they would take their lunch break and bring the furniture to my new location in just over an hour and arrived almost 2 hours later! Of course, we were worried because they had all our furniture. We had to go looking for the men. We called Moveworks office and cell, no answer!!! Again, no drop cloths put down until my husband mentioned it, they did not want to take their shoes off either and this was a rainy day and my house is in a new neighborhood, so lots of mud on the ground. Luckily we had put down cardboards in the front area ourselves. The men were also using their dirty gloves to handle my clothes. We were not impressed. There were many more smoke breaks so finally when it was done, over the estimated time, it came time to pay. The driver insisted we pay more that we were asked to pay. Remember we also got very involved with moving furniture and other household items. The driver was very rude to my husband, raising his voice. I was shocked that an employee would behave in such a way - I was not even talking to the owner and was being treated so badly. In the end we paid up thinking we will take this up with Moveworks later on. I started making my calls to Moveworks, but ended up leaving message for days and never gor a call back. We have never heard back from Moveworks and are still fustrated thinking about our experience with this company.With such bad customer service and movers, we would never recommend them to anyone. We paid for a company that did not fulfill all their promises of a PROFESSIONAL JOB and makes no attempt to return calls from a dissatisified customer. In no way has Moveworks attempted to rectify the situation and still to this day they have not even bothered to even get in touch with us. We have rated this company ZERO can safely say we would never again use them nor would we recommend them to anyone moving!!!
