I HAD A MAJOR SEWAGE BACKUP WHICH CAUSED MY HOUSE BASEMENT TO BECOME FLOODED. MAYDAY DRAIN SERVICE CAME VERY QUICKLY, IDENTIFED THE PROBLEM IN 5 MINUTES AND INTERCEDED ON MY BEHALF IN CONVINCING THE CITY THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THEIRS, A COMPLETELY PLUGGED MAIN SANITARY LINE ON THE STREET. THE CITY HAD SENT AN INSPECTOR SEVERAL HOURS EARLIER WHO SAID THE PROBLEM WAS WITHIN MY HOUSE, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE INCORRECT. AFTER ROY GIBSON OF MAYDAY DRAIN SERVICE CALLED AND CONVINCED THE CITY TO SEND AN EMERGENCY $400,000 PUMP TRUCK & CREW, HE WAITED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS TO MAKE SURE THE JOB WAS DONE CORRECTLY. ROY & HIS COMPANY WERE TRULY EXCEPTIONAL, AND THE BEST TRADE SERVICE I HAVE DEALT WITH IN YEARS. I HAVE RENTAL PROPERTIES & I DO INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AS WELL, SO I HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD.

I live in a condo and the only toilet I had backed up. I called Roy first after reading the rave reviews on this site. He wasn't there, so I left a message and started enquiring into the services of other plumbers. The others I reached - all also highly recommended - were only available to come by later in the evening. But then, Roy called back to say that he could come by in forty minutes!

Not only was Roy exactly on time, he conducted his business in a very personable, professional and knowledgeable manner. He solved my crisis within an hour and took the effort to ask if I was satisfied with the service (instead of just declaring himself finished). He charged exactly what he quoted the job would cost, which was very reasonable and in line with others.

My experience with Roy is one that all homeowners should have with tradespeople. I would gladly recommend his services to others (except when he's off for another of his Cuba experiences!).

I had spent money on a plumber to fix a backed-up toilet. The plumber wanted me to spend an additional $6,000 to dig up my front yard to figure out the reason for the blockage, which he blamed on tree roots (although there was no evidence to suggest that). On the advice of the Town of Markham, I called Roy and within an hour or so he identified the problem. Needless to say I didn't need to dig up my yard, nor did it cost me $6,000. His rates were incredibly reasonable, but more importantly he is smart and doesn't take home owners for a ride.

Roy has come by my house a few times to help me with an old drain in an old house. He is extremely personable, punctual, honest, and does great work. He has also been able to recommend me to others for specialty work and those recommendations have worked out very well.

I would highly recommend Roy (Mayday) to anyone who is looking for assistance with their drains.

I hired this gentleman for inspecting and cleaning, he spent almost 3 hours to do excellent job. Now the sewer is completely clean and we started to enjoy our summer without any concerns.

I had water seeping from the furnace room due to a blocked drain discovered on a Sunday morning. I called the town who recommended Mayday Drain Services. Roy arrived within the hour and was able to unclog the drain and determine the site of blockage utilizing sophisticated camera equipment. As the blockage was on the town side, there were no fees incurred. The service was professional, courteous and Roy made sure to put down drop sheets and remove his boots when walking through the house. I would highly recommend this company to anyone requiring drainage repair.

Always one to get three quotes on the job Roy was the last we called. Others had said that we had colapsed pipes under the basement floor that would need to be replaced as well as the pipe from the house to the city line. Cost $8000.00 to $10000. we read the reviews on this website and called Mayday. Roy arrived was prompt coutious and pleasant.Could not understand why the pipes under the floor had colapsed. Put a camera down the hole mesured the distance from the clean out to our blockage, roots from a city tree. Roy advised us of a city grant program, showed the evidence to an inspector. Roy had the work done quickley with a minimum of mess. After a delay and apeal we received our grant. We were more than satisfied with Roy and his men and would happily recomend Mayday to any one. The maindrain backed up into the basement and Mayday was recommended by the Town of Markham. Roy was on site within 30 minutes and had the drain cleared in 20 minutes.

Drains backed up. Called recommended plumber, was referred to Roy.

Roy arrived within an hour. Was incredibly clean, and non-intrusive. We had company over and I am not sure they were even aware he was there.

Drains were running again within an hour and have been fine since.

Additionally, Roy took the time to walk me through exactly what he did, and what the cause of the problem was. His explanations and recommendations were easy to understand and re-assured me that the problem was resolved.

Nice to know that people like Roy are still out there.
