Review of current house issues
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Your criticism of our service is unfounded and incorrect. Four out of five recommended contractors spent their valuable time at your home and reviewed your project.
You are now unhappy because that same group of four knowledgeable, independent business people came to the same conclusion: that your project was one with which they preferred to take a pass on, for whatever reason. Contractors have the right to chose their clients too. They are under no obligation to submit proposals simply because you want them to.
Had you selected one of these firms to actually do the work, and had then become dissatisfied about their work for some reason, I would agree with you, but that didn't happen.
House Calls Renovation Advisors is not about a theory of service. House Calls is all about achieving successful renovations as evidenced by a long list of satisfied clientele. I believe caring is what we do best.
Thanks for your support! Feel free to call anytime.
Assessing a structural problem with an addition to the house
This was a situation that involved making a lifestyle decision as much as a construction decision. I'm glad that I was able to facilitate the process and provide enough information to allow the owner to make a wise decision.
A pleasure to work with you. Thanks for your support.
The old adage about every cloud having a "silver lining" came true in this case. The ice storm disaster in December 2013, which seriously affected many people in this City, couldn't have come at a better time for this homeowner who had planned to start a modest renovation in December. Although the scope had to be adjusted, had the project started a few weeks earlier, all the new work would have been ruined. You both handled this near disaster situation amazingly well.
There are so many complex aspects to this case. Overall, it's been a pleasure to work so closely with this special client who has remained calm and patient in the face of significant adversity. No home owner should ever have to go through an experience like this.
My thanks, and my pleasure to have worked with you. I think you've hired the right contractor at the right price. I believe you will see a great return on your investment over the years, both from the financial perspective and in gaining the full use of the new social space. The first part of our House Calls mission appears to have been accomplished, now on to the construction phase!
A pleasure to work with you. Thanks for the positive review. Jay
