Basement Renovation

Hired Home Depot for a small basement renovation - simply to install kitchen cabinets in a roughed in kitchen. Job took over 3 months and there were numerous issues with the sub-contractor and it took Home Depot a long time to resolve. Highly don't recommend.

Carpet installation

Over 3 weeks ago, I paid for Home Depot to come to my condo to measure for carpeting. The estimator was supposed to call me within 24-48 hours but never did. I followed up 7 times wiht Home Depot and the company that is sub contracted to do the estimation. The Estimater claimed that he had called me on 2 ocassions but it turned out it was untrue. Because I had an american phone number, he didn't call me ever. I ended up calling him to book the estimate. Over 3+ weeks went by before my "rapid installation" carpet was ordered.

Cutting

we wanted different types and lengths of wood for our home renovation and the staff were very helpful, and not just that but knowledgeable too. they have questions in most of our answers despite the fact that we were just in the store and not in our home that is being renovated, this shows that they know what they are doing. when it comes to the cutting, they were precise and cutting with complete care! it is actually free but i dont know if its still free if you need wood cut from ouitside so im just guessing a price since it wont let me write 0.

fence, deck, carport installation

I hired a contractor through this Home Depot's installation services to do some construction in our backyard.

The contractors work fell well short of reasonable standards (required constant oversight by me, took approximately 2 months for a job that was quoted to take 7-10 days and when issues were raised to the contractor were met with excuses and little to no change in actual practice).

Due to this poor quality of service several complaints were lodged with Home Depot (more than 5). At no point did Home Depot extend even a basic courtesy of returning a call. While phone operators took several detailed complaints the only action that was taken was to forward the complaint to the contractor (to whom complaints had already been raised directly and did not deal with them adequately). Home Depot's position was that the contractor's statement to them was a sufficient resolution (no attempt was made to confirm whether the contractor had accurately presented the facts of project progress).

At every stage a complaint was lodged, it was stated that a response from Home Depot would be forthcoming. To this point Home Depot has still not responded on any of these issues.

custom-made window blinds

My husband and I spent almost an hour choosing colours and finishes and were never made to feel as though our small order was not worth Nina's while. She was most helpful by pulling out sample after sample and by quoting on the various options.

Installed kitchen counter, sink, and taps

We needed a new laminte countertop, sink, and taps installed in our kitchen. Home Depot was recommended to us by a friend. All aspects of the purchase and installation went according to schedule, and on time. I was contacted with delivery and installation dates well in advance, and the installer did a thorough and professional job. After the installation, he carefully checked to see that the drain didn't leak, and even offered me some good advice about another plumbing project I was working on at the time. If I need another installation of this type of countertop, I will use Home Depot.

hardwood floor

home depot reps. were very helpful - however, it took a bit of time to find someone to assist in the planning/purchase of floor. Other than that, his assistance was very helpful and we could put some of his tips to good use. Way to go Home Depot!

Window coverings

I recently was looking at the displays of the various blinds and shutters and even though I did not have the exact measurements (I was not quite ready to buy, yet), the sales associate was extremely helpful and spent quite a bit of time with me discussing the options, prices and styles. I will definitely buy my blinds at Home Depot!
