I purchased the wrong tool at Home Depot and went back to return it even though package was opened. Service desk gave me no problems and no hassle in returning the item.

My wife and I ordered a custom shade from this particular location for our master bedroom. We explained to the salesperson that we wanted a blackout shade and we gave her the dimensions of the window. She suggested that we order the shade the dimensions of the window as they always cut them a couple of inches wider on each side. We received the shade 2 weeks late and the width was cut to exactly match the window and was crooked on the bottom. We brought it backed and complained and the department manager said that there was no way that anyone would have told us what they did about the width. She also took the shade and said that they would send it back to the manufacturer to fix the crooked bottom. We waited 3 more weeks only to get back the shade in exactly the same condition that we brought it in. When we complained about it we were told that there was nothing that they could do and that we were stuck with it as it is.

The store was stocked quite well but it is a large store. However, I had no trouble finding a sales associate who was happy to help me find what I needed. He was also knowledgeable and gave me advice on the installation of the fixture I was purchasing.

As I started to plan my kitchen renovation in my basement unit, I had a lot of options to consider. I wasn't sure where to start so I went to my local Home Depot - Richmond Hill, Ontario. They guided me through the process and helped me choose what products were right for me. I had to make a lot of decisions, but am glad I went to Home Depot as they really pointed me in the right direction. One thing I found though is that you really should try to work with 1 or 2 people at the store and to find knowledgable people as not all know what they are talking about at this location.

This is a great place to go if you need help matching paint. I brought in a small paint sample chipped off from a wall in my house and they were able to perfectly match it. I bought a test can to be sure and then switched it for a full can. Thank you so much!

Home Depot is a difficult company to review because I have had very varied experience with them. It really depends on which salesperson you are dealing with. We have had great luck with the electrical department in Richmond Hill. They have helped us solve electrical problems and the solutions worked. The delivery service was not as great. They delivered opened packages, one that was damaged and had to be returned and one that was the wrong colour.

I would not buy an installation product from Home Desperate Billy Bishop Way (Yorkdale) ever again. It took a year to have them honour their guarantee. And I had to have the door shipped to RONA at St Clair and Dufferin, pick it up and then install it MYSELF after paying for install. Got all my $$$ back, but lousy store and corporate service isn't impressive at all! Didn't stand behind sales, installer or service. I would not buy an installation product from Home Desperate Billy Bishop Way (Yorkdale) ever again.
