I hired Handyman Connection from the Home Show. The first person they sent out, I met at the door. Explained everything to him and then had to leave for work. The man assured me he had installed laminate on stairs before, knew how to install door trim. knew how to install a screen door and put the handle on it and knew how to install a mirror door. About the only thing this handyman knew how to do was install the mirror door which came with explicit instructions from the manufacturer on how to install it. He royally messed up everything else. It took him a week to finish an extremely poor quality job. I refused to pay for the service until the job was done properly. Then sent another handyman out which he did a fabulous job fixing but it took him 3 weeks to finish because he was fixing it in between other jobs. The end product was to my liking but what should have taken a week took a month because they didn't dedicate a full 8 hours to fixing my items but instead only came in between 2-4 hours a day. When I double checked their final quote. I actually paid double what I should have paid. I am throughly disgusted with this company and would never hire them again nor recommend them to anyone.
The response of Handyman connection is a complete fabrication. I have never hired this company "over the years" as I learned of them at the Home Show and the one Time I hired them, they screwed up. I work with construction code, architectural plans and drawings. Do not assume that because I am FEMALE that I do not know that the door handle is measured from the threshold, not the bottom step of my front door and 3 feet is the correct height. It is not.
Do not blame other companies or worse, the customer, which you have done both in your response below, for the total incompetence of the people you hire. I would NEVER recommend you to anyone especially now that I have read the complete falsification and fabrication of my Reno. You screwed up and made up something to try and cover your arse by blaming someone else and me. Accept responsibility and do the job correct the first time. Do not hire

Dear Elaine,
Handyman Connection takes pride in all of our Craftsman. We equally value our customers through providing our Total Home Protection Warranty of any work done by our craftsmen. We understand renovations can be stressful, and with the number of companies involved in your job. It is understandable and unfortunate all trades would be painted with the same brush.
As a new franchise owner, I am a bit concerned over the level of dissatisfaction your feedback implies. After careful review of our contracts with you, and consideration of your feedback it seems there are many pieces of information tumbling together.
As you know, Handyman Connection is often called on to complete or repair the work done by other companies. In your case, we were asked to finish installing laminate flooring to your stairs, and few other items started and left incomplete by other company. Having completed the initial contract, we were pleased you valued our workmanship by requesting additional jobs to be done. Regarding your concern about paying twice for a job, we have checked all your Invoices, and you have never paid twice for any job. Please call our office anytime during business hours to further clarify your concern about this issue.
After installation of the screen door, you directed the craftsman to reposition the door latch from the standard position to a higher position to insure safety of your child. An understandable request, however, once aluminum has been drilled, it is not possible to repair the frame to original factory condition.
Subsequently, you became displeased and contacted us to fix the remainder of the stairs which we did under our warranty. Handyman Connection values customer feedback by actively following up on each and every customer.
What is positive is that over the past number of years you have been so pleased with work of our craftsmen that you have subsequently contracted us to do further work for you. we really appreciate your business.
