a home move to a storage unit and a subsequent move from storage to new home

Two movers instead of three showed up for the initial move; frequent calls (at least 5) to Francis eventually resulted in a third mover showing up two hours after the truck first arrived. The move from storage with my husband at the unit to watch the unloading and reloading indicated that there had been a lot of damage to furniture, probably by the movers who unloaded the truck to storage. A picture frame was shatterd, a large wardrobe had one side bent, velvet ottomans were creased from having pictures rest on them for a month, wood tables scratched, mirror end tables had one drawer on each table shattered. Picture frames nicked. All in all, a disaster that others need to be cautioned about if and when his name arises as a potential mover.

Company Response

In regards to this move we do appologize that we did not have sufficient manpower at the start of the move as one of our employees were sick. As for the damaged items its very tough for our movers to fit a large house into an innappropriately sized storage unit. Ofcourse if the storage is too small we will have to stack furniture ontop of one another at the customers discretion. Yes the velvet ottomans were stacked ontop of eachother but we had taken it for repair and the item was returned and fixed. I dont consider the job we have done for you being 0 out of 10.

Move from House (including to POD)

Francis Movers came recommended to us - we were very pleased with the moving services. They were on-time and kept the move going on a very hot humid day. Price was reasonable

Moving

Francis Movers were recommended to us by an acquaintance. We have used them twice in the last 3 years. We had different crews each time but they were all very curteous, efficient, careful with our belongings. I have also recommended them to a neighbour who ended up using them and was very satisfied also.

Home Moving service

Our move experience was terrible. Originally scheduled for 2:30pm but we had called repeatedly in advance requesting to move to 2pm instead and they said they'll do their best.

Called at 3:00pm for an update and advised we were not happy with the tardiness of the movers. Francis told us to seek another company if did not like their service. I had no choice at that point as most movers could not dispatch in such short notice.

Called 3 times for an update and was advised the movers were on lunch from the previous job. The movers finally made it at 3:45pm. To make matters worse, the new home owners showed up expecting to take possession at 4:15pm. Spoke to the movers and they said we were scheduled for 3:30pm appointment.

All in all, the experience was a nightmare. The bottom line is, they scheduled appointments with no time in between jobs for the movers. The movers were ok. Please be cautious when anyone from Franis movers schedules a time for you. I would definately not recommend.

Moving from 1 bedroom condo to 1 bedroom condo

Hired Francis Movers to move me from a 1 bedroom condo to another 1 bedroom condo. The movers (Joe and Howard)arrived on time the day of my move and moved all of my furniture and personal items to the new condo without damage to the items or the walls of either building. They even informed the front desk at both buildings that the move was complete and that the elevators could be taken off of service mode. I would definitely hire them again.

Moving company to our new house

They came on time (within 15 minutes)and did their best to treat our furniture with respect. They worked diligently and as quickly as possible without damaging anything. A couple of things did get broken but mainly due to the fact that they had not been moved for 22 years. One picture did get broken and was put into our garage without us knowing it. Fortunately it was nothing major so I did not call them back. Otherwise we were very pleased with the move.

Moving

My wife and I hired Francis Movers for our recent move and we were very satisfied with the service we received. Though the movers arrived about 40 minutes late, they were very efficient, conscientious, and professional once they arrived. Mike, Kirk, and the guy from the Maritimes disassembled/reassembled our bed and dining table and moved all furniture & boxes with care, both at the old and new homes. If you ever need help moving, be sure to ask for these guys.

Moving

We booked Francis for our move from Toronto to Guelph yesterday. I was a bit concerned in the morning when the guys were 45 minutes late - but the move went very well. I had booked a 28 foot truck and 3 guys - and got 3 guys and a 32 foot truck. As soon as they arrived at our house they got right down to business. We had the house packed up in about 3 hours and on the other end they showed up 15 minutes after we did! They were very careful with our stuff and did their best to put it where we wanted it. The entire move took 7 hours plus 2.5 hours added on for travel. Very reasonable in my opinion. I would definitely use Francis movers again and will recommend to anyone I know who is moving. Thanks a lot, guys!

Moving

We booked Francis Movers for our move on 2008. and we were very stressed and had a tight time frame regarding elevators on both ends of our move. The crew were friendly and professional and there were no damages. Great job guys.

Moving Services

I hired Francis Movers based on the reviews from Homestars and their rates were very reasonable. They are worth every penny and the review on Homestars are accurate. I initially requested 2 movers for $70/hour, they had brought a 3rd person as an option. It was optional if we were to go with 2 and they were ok with that. 3 movers would have cost $90/hour. I decided to go with 3 as it would have saved me at least 1.5 hours. It took about 5.5 hours (including 1 hour travel time) to load unload our stuff. The guys (Rod, Grant and Dave) were fast and friendly. I highly recommend Francis Movers and would use them again.
