We had a new door installed this month to replace one that was starting to rot. We were contacted by Angie from the office within the timeline given by the sales rep. We were given an appointment date and time quickly. The installers called on their way to the house, showed up early, and gave me an approximate time frame to completion of the install.

We had a small glitch with incorrect hardware installation which Angie responded to very quickly. When we decided to keep what we had a refund was owed which arrived quickly thereafter.

The service was outstanding and prompt. The initial visit by (I think) Laurie was handled very professionally and I ended up booking on the spot as the product was awesome and the price was actually lower than we expected after our on-line research.

I recently had my new double car garage framed and have been finishing it myself. So far I've done the roof, electrical, siding, insulation and drywall with help from my cousin. One thing I wasn't going to tackle was the garage door. I have never installed one and didn't want my wife (or myself) to be on the outside in the alley in the dark, cold and snow pressing the button and the thing not open or get jammed because of inexperienced installation. I had several companies come to give me quotes and settled on Dodds mainly because of the salesman, Michael; he was just so much more experienced than the others. He had answers for every question I had and set me up for the interior framing necessary for the install. They weren't the lowest quote but still very competitive and the door is higher gauge steel, the hardware and rollers top of the line and the trim premium. The installation was done by a pair of personable fellows(Alfredo and partner) who did a superb job and were helpful in showing me how to use the 3 different devices to control the door. Lastly, my contact in the office was Angela who was there to help make it happen according to plan. I would recommend Dodds Doors in a heartbeat!

Finally got a round to replacing my garage door. It was so old and I wanted to be able to hang in the garage in winter. Got it replaced from Dodds Garage Doors. amazing job, installer was excellent, price was perfect and I'm one super happy camper! Highly Recommened

We needed someone to help us repair a really old garage door as well as we need an automatic garage opener. This business came highly recommended from someone in the neighborhood. Not only did we use this company, now my mother in law and father in law went on to use them. They are extremely professional and very friendly. In the past couple of years, we have referrered this business to many people.

We bought a house in mid-August with a older-style spring-based manual door which we replaced with a newer automatic door. We hired Dodds Garage Door Systems Inc. to do this work. The work was completed to our satisfaction with a few hiccups. Although we were initially told the items in the 'attic' of the garage were not an issue we were ultimately charged for their removal ... to our surprise. There was also a lack of communication regarding the placement of the keypad entry and it was ultimately put where we didn't really want it. Otherwise the door, keypad, and remote controls work well.

Garaga Doors are very well built and great products. I had a little issue with the install and when I phoned the owner he seemed irritated by my call. He suggested that perhaps it was my garage floor that was not flat and it might be sinking. They reluctantly sent a guy out who made some adjustments. I am happy to say a couple of years later the adjustments worked and i guess the floor isn't sinking. A little disappointed at the comment

Dodd's was very professional. From the appraiser who gave us the initial quote and answered all of our questions, to the installation crew who installed our garage door – everything was terrific!

Exceptionally good experience from start to finish. Mike the sales-rep made it very simple, lot's of pictures, so no guessing. Jacob, the installer knew his stuff and lived up to everything Mike said would happen. Took his time and did a teriffic job.

Angela the office rep co-ordinated the insatll and was a pleasure.

Had this type of work done before at another house from one of the big-box outfits and not at all satisfied.

We got a quote from Dodds in 2012 based on the reviews here on Homestars and the fact that they are one of the few garage door retailers who sell black steel insulated doors with full warranty (Garaga doors). Michael from sales gave us a reasonable quote and also went out of his way to comment on some changes we would need to make to the electrical/lighting prior to installation. We didn't order the doors until fall of 2013 and Michael still had our quote handy when we called to place the order -- the price had actually gone down! We ordered the doors and they arrived in about four weeks as expected. Setting up the installation was simple (only about two weeks lead time) and the installer Mark showed up on time as expected. He did an AMAZING job -- really clean installation, perfect fit on the doors, got rid of our awful rusted old doors. We had also ordered decorative hardware and he confirmed with us that we indeed wanted them installed, which was appreciated. Total installation took 6 hours and Mark took his time to do the job right. Would recommend Dodds in a heartbeat.

We needed a new garage door and we chose Dodd’s because of their high rating on home stars. The sales person who gave us our quote was great and very knowledgeable. The door took about 3.5 weeks to arrive as they had promised. I thought everything was going as planned. We were scheduled to have our door installed on a Tuesday morning, I arranged for a family member to come over and be here in case the installer needed anything. Monday I received a call from Dodd’s saying someone called in sick and could they come by Tuesday afternoon instead….I said no problem I understand people get sick. At around 4:30 on Tuesday I called home to see how the install is going and Dodd’s hadn’t shown up or called. I called Dodd’s and was assured they were on their way. At 6:30 the installer called and said he’ll be here tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Wednesday I get a call at 8am that the installer is lost ( I started to feel like this company is really disorganized if they aren’t sending their workers out with a GPS or map). When the installer got here I was surprised that he was alone, my old garage door is a one piece 12 foot metal door from the 1980s and is heavy, I didn’t know how one person could handle or lift that. After about 3 hours the installer brought me out to the garage to show me the new door, it was nice. He tried to talk me out of putting the lock/handle on the outside of the door, we had paid for one and therefore we wanted one, so I insisted he put it on. He then showed me how he installed the wrong mechanism and the shop didn’t send the right one, he’ll be back tomorrow to fix the problem I then asked him if he was going to remove the old door and he said that he guessed he had to. (Lucky my husband just got home from work because the installer couldn’t lift the door into the truck on his own). At this point I asked him if he could make our door a priority as some of the contents of my garage were outside (including my snow blower). The installer said that he’d be back by noon Thursday. Thursday at 4:30 no installer had arrived and no one from Dodd's had called. We called Dodd’s and were assured he had the mechanism and he’s on his way. He did not show up again. Friday morning we got a call from the installer that he’ll be coming at noon and could he have our address (completely disorganized). He did come Friday afternoon (not at the promised 12) and finished the install. We gave him the final payment. I checked my email and I saw Angela at Dodd’s sent me an email, I thought it was an apology or a suggestion on how they could make this situation better…Nope…just a copy of the invoice with no text, not even a thank you for your business. I thought as an honest person I would let Dodd’s know I was posting this review, only then I got a small admission that there had been some communication problems…Still no suggestions or efforts to leave me with a good feeling about this company
