I made a telephone inquiry about their furnace protection plan in March 2015. The customer service representative I spoke to on the telephone set up an appointment with me for someone from Direct Energy to come to my home and go over the plan with me and to check to see if my furnace qualified. I was home for the set appointment time and nobody showed up. I decided not to call and inquire about the missed appointment and also decided to go a different route rather than a protection plan. Two months later I receive a bill for a protection plan that I did not agree to or sign any paper work for. I called Direct Energy and spoke to a "contract specialist" who was unapologetic and said they had to review the original recorded telephone call to see if I had agreed to the protection plan. Needless to say I was pretty upset. I am currently waiting for a follow up call from the company to see where I stand. I don't understand how I could be billed for a service I did not officially sign off on. I have no paperwork, no contract, nothing. Be very wary about this company.
