Decorium

I purchased a Decoro Upholstered Sofa from Decorium, along with a leather recliner chair. After waiting FOUR MONTHS for these items to be made and shipped from China, they arrived. The chair had a large discoloured area, very prominent on the chair back, but Decorium wouldn't do anything about that. Since then, the chair has basically fallen apart - the arm has separated from the chair seat part. It is very poor quality. However, that is not my biggest issue.

The sofa I purchased was manufactured by Decoro and had a "lifetime limited warranty" on the frame, guaranteeing it would be free from defects in materials and workmanship with normal use. I assure you that we do not use the sofa for more than its intended purposes, but the wood frame is warped quite severely, resulting in the centre of the sofa sitting about an inch and a half lower than the sides. The sofa is caving in.

The warranty booklet says that to make a claim, you need to go through the store, so I contacted Decorium. They no longer sells Decoro products, I was told (and further research tells me they went out of business last year). I asked if, as a matter of goodwill, Decorium could do anything to help me out. After all, I paid more than $1600 for this microfibre sofa which I'm sure cost them only a very small fraction of that.

I was unable to speak to a manager and told plainly that Decorium could not absorb the cost of the repair. I understand that the manufacturer has gone out of business, but doesn't Decorium have an interest in taking care of their customers or at least ATTEMPTING to make them happy? Apparently their goal is not to earn the loyal trust of satisfied customers, but to take their money and run.

If you are a potential customer, I would now recommend that you do the same. After all, if a huge Decor Emporium, as they see themselves, cannot "afford" to take care of their customer, why would you want to give them your business? This is not the first horror story I've heard about Decorium not standing behind their products.

I was looking to redo our family room. I had a budget and an idea in mind and the sales team at Decorium was so helpful and able to bring it to life. They have more fashionable styles and options to choose from than most stores in the GTA and thier prices were fabulous. I got great service, professional and polite delivery team, and when it arrived they rolled out a red carpet (nice touch) and my room now looks exactly how I invisioned. thank you Decorium!! Do yourself a favour and visit them before you buy they are not in a major centre of the city but well worth the discovery.

Decorium was all around a fantastic experience. I found everything I was looking for in one store, which was surprising. Their sales team were very capable of helping me find exactly the look I wanted and helped me make a blue print of the set-up. The delivery men were exceptional, friendly, neat and tidy and very patient. I had an excellent experince overall! I love my furniture and will continue to furnish my home room by room with Decorium.

I purchased new bedroom and dining room furniture last year at Decorium. The store is huge and has a very large inventory and a variety of designs. You could find just about anything you need for your home. The service was excellent and the sales person we dealt with was very helpful. Beautiful furniture at affordable prices.

There was not many sale staffs on the floor to provide the service I expected and not enough new selection to choose from.

I wouldn't recommend because the service was not great.

We purchased some custom furniture and a floor model item on one day, then got cold feet and chose to cancel on the next. The salesperson was nice but aggressive and insisted that a sale was ending and we had to buy that day. When we got home, we realised the furniture wouldn't fit in our livingroom. We literally went the next morning, less than 18 hours after our purchase, to cancel and they intially refused to take back the floor model furniture. I had to stand their and bargain through the sales lady with some phantom manager just to get a return and a store credit. In fairness, I did know what the terms of sale were--essentially no cancellations, exchanges or refunds on anything, period--but still thought they'd have given us a break since we had just ordered the furniture a day before. One has the sense that their strategy is to pressure sell the furniture then defend themselves against returns when the customer realises their mistake. It's also quite expensive and most of the furniture is made in China. When you question them about this, the standard line is that "most furniture these days is assembled in China, though the materials are from North America". Yeah, most crappy furniture is assembled there. The good stuff, like the kind that warrants the Decorium price tag, is made here or in Europe. This store feels like it is at war with its customers. STAY AWAY FROM IT!

-I went to Decorium to buy furniture because they were offering a discount to all teachers.
-Immediately we were attacked by an overly aggressive sales representative. We bought a table and chair set for our dining room and were thinking about also buying a new sofa. My husband and I asked to be left alone to think about our purchases, and were interrupted by our sales rep arguing with another sales rep over who's sale it belonged too - very unprofessional.
-We were basically coerced into purchasing an extended furniture protection package.
-We were utterly shocked over the $200.00 delivery charge
-We waited 10 weeks for our furniture to arrive
-We were surprised to find out that the furniture was made in China, when we were specifically told it was made in the US.
-The table wobbles and the upholstering on the chairs is unacceptable
-Calls are rarely returned
-Will never, never step foot in that store again!!!

Decorium has furniture to suit all tastes. I was looking for contemporary furniture for living room. They had several sectionals, chair and a half, with great fabrics to choose from.

The store has a great selection and displays but the delivery of the goods could be improved upon. We had to have our dining chairs "touched up" and the ottoman that we received has a fairly substantial line through it because of the hide used in the manufacturing process.
