Kitchen renovation

I was renovating my kitchen and needed to purchase brand new appliances. I found the sales staff at Coast to be helpful but not pushy, and quite educated in the differences between the brands and features. They have a good selection of mid to high end brands (eg. Samsung to Wolf) and if you're buying a set they can offer a reasonable discount. The delivery and installation was done very quickly and the delivery staff were experienced in moving large appliances around tight corners. Overall, the buying experience at Coast felt pleasant and I was happy with my decision!

Washer/Dryer

The excellent help and service provided provided by Russel Winter at Coast Wholesale when shopping for a new washer/dryer made this investment easier to make. Our set was competitively priced, EnergyStar rated and the best value for our money.

Bought a range

I needed a second range for a rental unit. The space in the rental unit is limited and it was hard to find a range that is small enough to fit. A friend referred me to this place. The rep was helpful in finding the right size range for me and the price was slightly discounted. I am happy with the purchase.

Microwave

Was looking for a nice stainless steel microwave to complete my kitchen Reno. Found a beautiful Panasonic Stainless steel one there at a great price, better then futureshop or Bestbuy. The showroom is great and easy to get to, lots of parking available!

Appliance purchase

We own a few apartment buildings and any time we need to replace any of our appliances (fridges, oven ranges, dishwashers) we always buy them through Coast Wholesale. In my opinion, they have the best combination of value and service and they've always been able to provide us right away with whatever replacement appliance we need. Highly recommended.

Over the Range Microwave

Purchased and installed the same day. The fan, light and clock worked but the microwave cooking would not work. The next morning, when I called to return the microwave and get a replacement I was told they would have to get approval from Samsung before I could get a replacement. Samsung disputed this and said I should be able to return it for a replacement if it was returned to the store within 36 hours. I called the Samsung 1-800 number once again and was told the same thing. So here I sit waiting for how long I do not know so I can make the two hour long trip to get a replacement. I had already drilled the holes and installed the mounting bracket so I am stuck with getting the same unit. I do not know of any other store where you can not return a defective brand new product when it does not work. Does the store doubt Samsung will reimburse them for a defective product and let the customer take the risk and monetary loss. IT IS NOW THREE DAYS LATER AND STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM ANYONE AT COAST ABOUT GETTING A REPLACEMENT. IF YOU EVER BUY AN APPLIANCE; MAKE THEM PLUG IT IN AT THE WAREHOUSE WHEN YOU PICK IT UP, HAVE THEM PLUG IT IN AND MAKE SURE IT WORKS. IF YOU DO NOT THEN YOU WILL BE LIN MY POSITION AND HAVE TO TAKE IT INTO A DEALER FOR WARRANTY SERVICE WHEN IT DID NOT WORK OUT OF THE BOX.

they sell home appliances for your home renovation

When we moved into our new place, we had to buy a lot of new appliances (washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove and fridge). So we took time to really compare prices around town. After all, the house left us kind of broke... Anyway, we settled on Coast Wholesale for everything. Don't know why they call it 'wholesale' because most buyers are just buying retail. But anyway... They may not have every cool upscale appliance available in town, but their variety is actually pretty good and you get bang for your buck.

Kitchen renovations

The salesperson stated the appliance I was hoping for would fit in the space I quoted. The fridge was delivered. The delivery man left the fridge out of the hole without checking to see if it fit before he left, but he did have a measuring tape. That was confirmed when he measured the hallway door the fridge would have to go through. It didn't fit...the difference was 3/8".

After reading the manual, it states the fridge 'should' have another 2.5" of space. Now the appliance was out 2.5"+3/8" = 2 7/8" of clearance! Now I have to modify my home to work.

I spoke to the salesmen the next day and he didn't understand. He should have steered me towards a smaller fridge. I spoke to the manager and she stood by her employee and would not meet us halfway. It was a very disappointing experience.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Ask more questions from the showroom floor. They are the experts(???).
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Take the measurements and couple times. Don't forget about the baseboards, light switches or anything else that my pertrude. Also, look at the back of the new appliances as they may not conceal powercords as well as your old appliances. Your new range may not be able to take all the pans your old one can handle.

Kitchen Appliances

We recently bought a Maytag package for our kitchen. We provided the measurements to the sales person on staff. The fridge arrived as promised but we could not install it ourselves right away because of something their contracting transport did. We went to install it ourselves and found that the fridge did not fit and it was tight that it also damaged our light switch and wall. We contacted Coast to rectify the problem only to be told that once a client provides measurements and signs the bill of sale that they do not assume any more responsibility. That they acted in accordance to their policy (which when asked about it, they could not provide specifics nor define any terms). Upon further conversations they concluded that again they acted in accordance to their responsibility and were not willing to make this situation right. I would not recommend the Vancouver Coast Wholesale Store to anyone especially if they are not familiar with their rights as clients. Be wary that you must provide the CORRECT measurements as they it is not their responsibility to determine anything else in your space. Once it leaves the store, it is no longer their responsibility. The sub-contractor transport company is advised not to install nor do a proper inspection of the area as they are instructed to by Coast Wholesale Appliances. Before accepting anything product at your home, make sure the appliances fit yourselves. Do not trust the transport company and do not sign off until you are 100% comfortable with your decision. My advice would be to spend more money and buy from a company that provides a full circle service not a company that just displays appliances and takes your money.

New Kitchen Appliances

We purchased our appliances from the south Calgary store, Had an issue with the store during the purchase but got it resolved. Had an issue with the delivery of the product but got it resolved. Since the fridge has been worked on twice through Electrolux warranty and got it fixed wihtout issues through Totem Appliance repair. Now that the factory warranty is over and the extended warranty we purchased kicked in, it is a real nightmare. Transglobal is the company looking after the repair and after numerous phone calls and over 2 months later the repair is still not done. They sent the repairman twice to an address in Calgary instead if high river. Today I spent 4 hours on the phone with people from Transglobal and Coast and still do have it resolved. It is also very difficult and frustrating to get to talk to someone to help you out. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND COAST OR THERE EXTENDED WARRANTY.
