Cholette's Roofing

I was referred to this company through a friend, who’d previously had their roof redone. I looked them up on google, saw the reviews and was quite skeptical, however I still decided to go with them, as my friend had no issues. The end result was amazing, to say the least. Not only was the roof well done, they were professional and courteous. The workers were very friendly and clean. They deserve a lot more credit for their work. The owner is very articulate and down to earth. I would recommend this company one hundred times over.

I cannot express enough, how pleased I am with the work done by Matt and his crew. I had a bad experience with a past roofing company, so a friend recommended Cholettes Roofing after a great experience they had. These young men were professional, and courteous from beginning to end. To start, their price was very reasonable compared to 2 other quotes I got. They came and showed me samples of shingles, sitting down with me to let me choose which ones I wanted to use, and go over what all I wanted to have done. They showed up early the next day and had it all done within 2 days. The ground was absolutely spotless on completion, and my roof looks great. I have had no issues since.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get the roof done.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Mr Cholette and his crew. They were polite, cleaned up well and did a great job. When the hurricane lifted some of the new shingles, they were there the next day to repair them. He seems like a very ethical businessman to us.

Let me first start by saying, after we made arrangements with Cholette's Roofing. I happen to find the other review on this site about this roofing company. Needless to say I was quite concerned about the poor review, so I called the owner of the company. I informed of the poor review and my concerns going forward with my job. He assured me that he does many roofing jobs a year and one complaint is not out of the ordinary.

He assured me he would log on to this site and answer the previous review and of course he didn't.

Now on to our nightmare. We ended up with a few problems resulting from the job. First off, they never protected the eaves trough from the ladders and dented and scratched up the eaves trough in two areas. I noticed this after the job was completed and was quite upset over the damage caused.

Also, the contract called for 5 static air vents to be part of the contract. Three were already existing they were to cut in another two. This was also not done.

I called the owner and informed him of the problems and damage. He showed up later that day, I showed him all the damage to the eaves trough and asked why his company didn't use ladder extenders to keep them away from the eaves trough. He said they usually do but they were buried in a shed or something. I also mentioned about the static that were missed, he had part of his crew come back and cut in and install the two static vents missing on the roof and he added a bonus one in the garage. After they installed the bonus vent on the garage we noticed more damage to the eaves trough in a different area, as for some reason they didn't place the ladder in the same place the second time they went up to cut the vent in the garage.

Later that day with closer inspection we found a very messy edge and poor workmanship on the garage. Unfortunately we can't get up to the main roof as we don't have a ladder.

In closing I would not recommend this company in any way shape or form. The owner's attitude was very matter of fact and unconcerned.

UPDATE: Sept 04 2012:

Our roof is now LEAKING! we are still under warranty but we will not be calling Cholette's Roofing for a warranty repair, we just don't trust them to fix this mess!!

This is the second roof which we had done on our house, my husband past away so it was left up to me to hire the people to instal the roof. Most all of the neighbors use Cholette's Roofing, so i got an estimate which was average for the home. They arrived when they said they would, and started to remove the shingles from the roof since there where two layers and they had to be removed. I also had two roofs over my back deck and one over my side porch which where shingled as well, this is the problem which I could see. Under the back deck at the back of the house I could see right through the roof to shingles, which was suppose to be repaired, any wood that needed to be replaced, paid extra for this as well as the three foot piece of ice and water shield which was suppose to be put all around the house to prevent ice from building up, since I no very little about roofing I expected these people to do whatever was needed to prevent the roof from leaking, or install additionial vents etc.
The back deck roof didn't even half tar paper on the edges, they said because it was not closed in the roof didn't need this, I called them back and had them re-do the back roof. Now I am sure they did not put this tar paper or whatever around the side deck roof, saying it didn't need it, since it wasn't closed in, now the roof is leaking, in the middle of the roof, I called these people up twice to come and look, and repair the roof, but they will not show up, don't hire these people
