I was in desperate need of help with picking out paint colours for our home reno and had some design issues to work out. I definitely needed professional help! I found Margarida online and she was able to see me that same week. I couldn't have asked for better service - we covered so much in a short amount of time, sticking to my budget and talking through the problem areas of my home. I loved that Margarida would call out things as she saw them and offer options - there are ways to do things if you have big or small budgets, and she was spot on. We chose paint colours for my living/dining room, bedroom, office (2nd bedroom) and trim, figured out how to create a front entry for a front door that opens into a living space, and came up with floorplan options for my very awkward kitchen addition (it's a 75 year old bungalow). I can't wait to have her back for our next project!

We have worked with Margarida a number of times in the past several years, so we did not hesitate to call on her again with some additional home renovation projects.

Our main bathroom was first on the agenda. Margarida assisted us with space planning for a long and narrow bathroom, providing us with two different design options to consider. She accompanied us to choose the fixtures and floor/wall tiles. We would have been completely lost without her! She also assisted us with choosing paint colours and coordinated window valances. We have been extremely pleased with the end result, and have received many favourable compliments on the new look!

Our next project was the renovation of our vintage 60's den. Margarida made some great suggestions to help lighten up and modernize the space. She provided a coordinated design of chair fabrics, accent cushions, window coverings, furnishings, lighting, and paint. Again, we were extremely pleased with the end result - the room is comfortable & cozy - just the way we wanted it!

Margarida came to our house for a design consultation to assist us with the difficult task of choosing paint colours to update our very dated kitchen colour scheme. She was punctual, very pleasant, personable and easy to deal with. She took her time and worked with our personal tastes and style. In 2010, we decided to build a cottage. Instead of a popular cookie cutter cottage design offered by large building companies we decided to build a custom cottage from the ground up. Before a single decision was made we reached out to Margarida. Our previous experiences with Margarida were excellent and we knew we wouldn’t get the desired beautiful effect without Margarida’s expertise and her amazing attention to detail. Margarida was involved in the process right from the beginning. She helped us with colours, patterns, choice of stone, siding, windows etc.. Once the cottage was completed on the outside, Margarida’s amazing interior design talents were put to work and she wasted no time in creating a gorgeous modern interior living space, which is functional as well as absolutely beautiful. She proved extremely flexible and reliable and was devoted to the project every step of the way. Upon completion, our cottage has become one of the nicest in the neighbourhood and it’s an absolute pleasure to look at and live in. I would highly recommend Margarida’s services to anyone, as she can suit any need or wish.

We had originally hired Margarida to help us with ideas. She provided those, and they were great. But then....I started second guessing myself. I wanted the vision I had in my turn to turn into fruition and I was afraid of messing it up. So I called Margarida and hired her to help with the furniture for the space, as well as backsplash and counter top. I know how important it is for those 2 to go together for a cohesive look. Margarida did all the research for me, and then took me shopping. I loved everything she had chosen. Everything was beautiful, had the look I wanted and was within my budget. Something I never thought was possible. She was always willing to answer my questions or clarify any issues I had. Thank you Margarida for everything you did. We absolutely love our new space and recommend you to everyone and anyone that is looking for a designer.

When we bought our house, we knew we would have to make some changes to the kitchen. We quickly saw that we didn't have the design talent to transform that space. So we asked Margarida to help us and it was the best thing we could have done. She knew how to balance the colors, functionality and design of the space. She’s more than just a designer, Margarida can translate our wishes into the real world. And the result is fabulous!

Margarida was tasked with helping us put together a few key rooms on a very tight budget, in a short time frame, and with very little direction. We weren't sure of what we even liked in terms of decor, and Margarida patiently assisted us throughout the project. While we haven't yet seen the end results of the kitchen selections (that renovation hasn't taken place yet), I have no doubt it will exceed our expectations. We were thrilled with the work she helped us with in the main living area and entrance way of our home.

My husband and I are thrilled with how seamless and open our condo feels and how well Margarida integrated both of our styles. We hired Margarida to help us design our kitchen in a 25 year old condo we purchased in Oakville. Margarida designed a beautiful chef's kitchen, along with 2 bathrooms, a dining room, flooring, paint and lighting.

I was completely overwhelmed trying to find furniture that worked well with the area rug that I recently purchased. I felt lost and also quite concerned because I had offered to host a bridal shower within weeks but I really wanted my living room completed. I decided I needed help so I looked online and found Margarida Oliveira.

When I called Margarida and told her I was hosting a bridal shower in a few weeks and needed to furnish my living room, she reassured me that she could help and that even though we didn't much have time, she felt that we could still complete the room before the party. I was relieved and excited about the next few steps.

Margarida, knowing my budget restraints and extremely short time frame, came by my house and looked at the room and my new area rug. She figured out all the colours in the rug and then off we went shopping. After our first trip, I found my chairs, coffee table and side tables which also ended up being the store where I purchased my sofas. Margarida accessorized the room and managed to complete the room two days before the bridal shower.

Everything came together unbelievably quickly and beautifully. I had no idea how gorgeous my living room could look until now and I absolutely love it!

When I called Margarida, we had already started a large renovation project. My husband and I were doing a complete renovation of our kitchen, and needed help in selecting the floor tiles, counter top, backsplash, and paint colours. One of our main concerns for the space was that the colour scheme of the kitchen match that of the living room and that it flowed well into the foyer. Margarida looked at each of the rooms and made sure all the colours worked well with each other. Margarida went shopping with us and helped us sort through the various samples and gave us decisive ideas on how to choose elements that would work well together. Margarida was able to connect the colour scheme to the new contemporary style we were trying to achieve by blending the colours and textures to bring the individual rooms together and allow the main floor to flow from one room to another.

In addition, I followed some tips Margarida gave on lamp styles and rug texture and colour choice for the living room. This too added immediate and effective improvement to the house. Through her contacts she also managed to save us hundreds of dollars on our new quartz countertop. The final product is gorgeous - we love spending time in our new kitchen, and have received many compliments on the entire 1st floor.

Margarida listened to our style preferences and nailed it with each of her recommendations. Margarida is timely, responsive and completely professional. We will certainly be using her for our decorating projects in the future. Thank you, Margarida, for making our house a home!!
