After building our first home with a different builder we were hesitant on building again. Ted from Ashton Homes and Barb and Jackie from Century 21 were available throughout the entire process to answer any of our questions, it was truly a pleasure working with all 3 of them from start to finish. They looked after us every step of the way and were nothing but accommodating of our desires at each phase of the build. We can honestly say it was a very enjoyable experience and we look forward to making memories in our beautiful home!

We have also received nothing but compliments from friends and family on our new home. We would definitely recommend building with Ashton Homes!

As a first time home buyer, there is a lot to learn and know about buying/building a home. I am very happy with my decision to purchase a house with Ashton Homes. Yes, my closing date was rescheduled to a further date, but the wait was well worth it.

The Site Supervisor and team were all awesome. If I had any questions or concerns, I always got a straight answer. There were plenty of really nice paint, flooring, and cabinetry colour options along the way as well. We had several meetings throughout the building process to ensure things were getting done accurately, and upon closing I listed a few items that needed to be attended to, and the team completed them all. I am absolutely in love with my house and couldn't be happier. The key part for me was that I was kept in the loop with everything. I knew when the painters were going in, when the landscapers were coming, etc. It made me feel a part of the process, which is a really big check mark in my books, as buying a home for my first time was a very scary decision.

I strongly recommend building a house with Ashton in Fort Erie if you have the opportunity to do so!

I had not thought of building until the opportunity presented itself. After deciding to make some big life changes and sale of my beautiful family home. I was left looking for affordable options for myself and my children.
After looking at resale I came to the conclusion a new home was a better option because of warranty and lack of repairs for a while, as apposed to renovations and older home issues that could lead to any number of unforeseen expenses.
A new subdivision, Spears Estates in Fort Erie was less than a block from my old home. I went to Ashton Homes sales center and my journey began.
The whole subdivision sold out quicker than anyone had expected so I could see time issues were constantly being over stressed. Communications with Ashton and the sales people was amazing from my perspective. Any issue I had was addressed. Sometimes it was necessary to compromise on the time line but that is to be expected with any new build (as my research made clear).
The site manager was a dream to work with, always noting and scheduling resolution. I was happy with all the trades and felt my vision was beautifully accomplished. Building is not without its perils but I felt heard and attended to so it was a much easier process.
I have read some other less complimentary reviews and have to say, building is not the same experience as buying ready built ( as my research informed me). So do a little homework before you build and you will get a good idea what to expect. So much is out of anyone's control and so much is. I found some things were just the way it is and no one could have seen it coming. But I felt I and my investment were in good hands.
I love my new home. My family and I are so happy. I would recommend Ashton Homes builders without reservation! : )

We’re a year into our new home and are very happy. We’ve had our share of set backs. Our closing date was delayed a few times. A few things weren’t right at first. But In the end the builder and site supervisor worked with us to ensure everything was completed or fixed. Would definitely build with this company again!

After a seller backed out of a ComFree deal, and we had sold out house, my family and I were scrounging to find a place to live.

We had never discussed building as we always heard horror stories about builders.

We decided to build with Ashton Homes because they’re we’re building right near a school where we wanted our 3 month old at the time to go.

We explained our situation to the builder who bent over backwards for us!!! Literally!!! He provided us a place to stay while our place was being built. He provided us with storage for our furniture when we didn’t have space right away and then he installed an air conditioner in the place we were staying because we had a baby and he didn’t want to see the baby uncomfortable!!!

Building we weren’t without problems. But I would never say it was the builders fault. Any and all issues I’ve had have always been addressed and recitified.

I’ve read other reviews on here and think a lot of the blame is being in necessarily dumped onto Ashton Homes. I can understand your frustration with the issues that have been brought up, but let me ask you this...

When you buy a lottery ticket and don’t win...do you trash talk the owner for selling you a losing ticket?

If your brand new car has a recall for an unforeseen issue that they’ve acknowledged and are fixing...do you trash talk the owner of the company?

With the issues I have seen they are down right terrible. And would be completely in acceptable if no one did anything about it. But I’m sorry to say that condemning an entire company and putting out bad reviews based on a contractor or trade messing something up is wrong and out of line.

Building a house in general is a stressful experience. I get it and will wholeheartedly tell you that there will be problems. It’s an inevitable part of the new construction process. But with a lot of patience and understanding you will be happy in any new home you buy.

This builder is a family run company and if allowed will make you feel like part of the family.

Made a HUGE mistake using them on our new home just recently in there subdivision. They used the cheapest bath tubs around and the bottom of ours cracked when my wife stepped in it. I’ve been in contact with them and said they will come look at it asap.(This was over a month ago and we haven’t been able to use that tub since).

The paint on the trim in the living room is peeling off, other rooms are fine but this room is just bubbling up. To top this off our rear patio door has leaked during heavy rains since we moved in, it doesn’t seal properly when closed.

I’m at a loss of what to do as they now will not return my phone calls. My wife and I should NEVER have to deal with this on the biggest purchase of our lives. Just show they choose money over quality!

Extremely sad and disappointed.

I ended up buying 2 homes in this project. After sale service was very good. Price was reasonable and closing was on time. The company lived up to it's promises. Good experience.

If we had only had the help of a site like this perhaps we wouldn't have made such an error in judgement when building our first home with Ashton. There were terrible to deal with from the beginning. The customer service was amongst the worst I have ever experienced in my entire life which I found ironic since it was the largest purchase of our lives.

Our closing date was disasterous to say the least. The problems continued after we moved in when we discovered that there was no insulation installed in the second floor of our house. We also had leaks from the second floor into our livingroom. When trying to reach the head builder, we were told continuously that our messages were getting to him and that he would be in touch. He never returned a single call or addressed a single concern.

I would never recommend this company unfortunately and nor would anyone on our street that we have talked to. We love our house (now that everything is fixed) but the hassles have been unending. We've heard that they are starting to build in Fort Erie and Welland. Buyers beware and really really do your research on them. Get everything in writing no matter how ridiculous it may seem because they change their tune all of the time.
