Advanced Plumbing

Our pipes froze yesterday and we went all day with no water. We had just had our basement completely renovated last spring so we were pretty upset and worried a pipe would burst and destroy our new basement. I called the first plumbing company that came up in Google search for my area and these guys came up. I was so impressed by the professional service I received on the phone. A plumber was dispatched right away and I received text messages updating me on their arrival which was within 40 minutes. When they arrived they were so personable and knowledgeable I was put completely at ease. They found the problem, fixed it, checked for leaks and didn't leave until they were sure there was no water leaking and that everything was working properly. They told me why the pipes froze - the renovator did not put insulation or a barrier between the outer brick wall of our house and the new drywall. An old dryer vent in our brick wall allowed the cold air from that recent storm to get trapped between the drywall and the brick wall causing the freeze. If the pipes had been insulated during the reno this would not have happened. I'm so glad they told me all of this as we can now take steps to avoid this happening again by calling the renovator back and asking them to insulate these pipes. I highly recommend this company and especially the two fellows who came out to our house so quickly. It was pricey though.
