I hired Hooman to correct deficiencies in my home from the ESA as I had discovered that there was aluminum wiring in my home. Hooman was friendly and prompt during the initial visit and quote. Staff at H Man Electric were friendly and came as scheduled to complete the work – mostly all the work was done same day, however Hooman had to return to complete some minor components. After Hooman finished that day he told me to call ESA to have the inspector come to look at the work done. I also asked Hooman for an official invoice and paid amount in full with taxes included – Hooman said that an invoice wasn’t a problem. I called ESA and was informed that the contractor should have initially called before doing the work to obtain a permit – after the work is finished they would also be the ones to call to book the follow-up inspection. I spoke w/ Hooman afterwards and he agreed to call ESA and have them book the follow-up inspection. Weeks have now gone by and I have called and e-mailed Hooman multiple times to no avail. The first few times he told me that ESA would be calling him back to let him know when they would be coming and in turn would notify me, however that has not happened. I’ve tried calling last week but no answer and calls seem to fail. Since communication has broken down – I called ESA myself last week and they informed me that no one has called them about an appointment. ESA informed me that they will send him a notice since permit was not taken prior to work being done. I followed up this week w/ ESA this week – no call yet from Hooman. So now it’s been over a month now and no ESA inspection and no invoice – needless to say it has been very frustrating. Coincidentally I found a review on Homestars from 8 months ago with a very similar situation. Update - 14/06/2019 - I was able to contact Hooman who told me that he had an emergency and was away for 1 month and therefore was unable to get back to me. Long story short - ESA came in for inspection last week and now just awaiting for the Elekcheck certificate.

We followed up with Hooman ,
When he initially came in for quotation he suggested you to call ESA as a home owner to get an inspection for a safety then if the inspector gave any defect list we can fix them and you can call them back for certificate! He suggested this base on his previous experience with other customers who this worked for them!
You called they told you the contractor should contact so he told you since he has to add the inspection price to the invoice please let us get the inspection then we will send you the invoice !
He did call hydro to book an inspection and they told him they will call back to book an appointment !!
He followed up couple of times!
Definitely when you call Hydro they would tell you there is no appointment once they haven't get back to him to book an appointment !!
Also there is not such a thing as a call reporting so they would know how many times a contractor has called !
Meanwhile Hooman had an emergency had to go away but still did his best to follow up with Hydro!
So all of this caused a delay on your project!
Needles to say for us also it gets very frustrating sometimes when hydro delays and customers complaining of something which is out of our hand !
Now:
-On Jun the 18th you got your inspection report
-on July 7th you got your invoice
But we still haven't received the remaining balance....
