I hate moving at the best of times. I was really dreading it this time around because I now have two small children. But as soon as Greg from Ferguson Richmond came by our old house I immediately started to feel better. His calm, friendly, professional manner really put me at ease. As did his guaranteed price. I went with a bargain basement company last time... and the final price was more than double of what the initial estimate was. That was a terrible shock. But Ferguson tells you a precise price before you even book your move. A price that will not (and did not!) change. And you certainly get a lot for your money. The crew showed up on time and were all polite and professional. They had our old place cleared out in no time. All furniture was wrapped, and they used runners to protect the flooring. The unloading was just as fast and efficient. These guys really know how to work together. They arranged my furniture for me and made sure that the boxes were all placed in the correct rooms -- even asking me for clarification if they weren't sure. Nothing was damaged... the newly painted walls remained perfect. The best part? The put all of our beds together. I have never had that kind of service before. And it was wonderful! We all were able to get a good night's sleep after the move. I would not hesitate in recommending Ferguson, Greg and his crew to anyone who is moving. What a difference with this move versus past moves! In fact, I have a small office move to do this week and I am thrilled Greg is available to make that happen quickly and efficiently for me. A++. Very impressed. I won't dread our next move at all. There is a reason this company has been around for almost 100 years.

We have a baby due this fall and we have often driven by this nice looking store. They do have some lovely, unique pieces and I was excited to get some big ticket items there. However, we did not have a good experience. No one spoke to us no matter how long we hung around. We tried to get a salesperson's attention. No luck whatsoever. I did find a small item that I did not require help with and took it to the register hoping that I would get some decent service there. It took forever for the customer in front of me to get her purchase rung through. And by the time she was finished, I was hoping to just buy the thing I had in my hands and get out of there. But the two people behind the desk weren't interested in taking my money. One looked at me and walked away. The other finally acknowledged me and I asked her a reasonable question about another item as she was putting my purchase through. That was a mistake. I left the store feeling uncomfortable. I will not go back.

We needed to get our 5 year old Miele vacuum serviced. We were happy to find a shop near enough to our home. The original estimate was $50 and a "couple of days". But it actually cost double that price and it took a couple of weeks. My husband went in to pick it up and pay but he was sent away saying that no one was there to do the transaction. (!!?!?) So he had to make another trip back to the store a few days later. Fortunately, the vacuum is now working well again, but really, this was not a good experience.

I just bought a few accessories this time, but would definitely consider buying some serious furniture at this place. Gorgeous, unique pieces, nice (and fun!) staff. Cute little location. Definitely check this place out. And enjoy Steveston while you're there!

No one does bouquets prettier than Hobbs. Large, lush, tasteful, unique. The colour combinations they come up with are gorgeous. The vases and little decor items are good quality and substantial. Service is usually pretty good, too!

This is a cute shop in Kerrisdale. It's pricey, but you can find some unique pieces. (They have a good sidewalk sale now and then, too.) I did have a terrible experience there my last visit, however. My husband had purchased me an item for Christmas. It wasn't quite right, so I returned it a few days later. (Tags on, still in the original bag. But the receipt was gone.) The young man working there was absolutely rude to me. Complaining about all of the paper work he'd have to do to return the item. Telling me that it was possible I'd just been there the day before and had bought it at the boxing week sale price and was just there to take advantage of them. I was in shock. (And so was his co-worker. She made sure that I was given a gift card to spend at a later date.) If it wasn't for her, I'd never set foot in that store again. It's too bad.... I'm in Kerrisdale several times a week now. I definitely could have become one of their regulars.

I had just redecorated my living room and dining room. (Aqua blue and cherry - a very unique colour combination.) I already had a set of classic white dishes, but I really wanted a few pieces to pick up my accent colours. I looked *everywhere* with no luck. Till I went to Homesense! They had a gorgeous pattern and I picked up several pieces. I didn't need help on the floor, but was happy to receive excellent service at the cash desk. The associate was friendly and efficient. Excellent shopping experience.

This place is a gem. Such unique items -- it is truly a fun place to shop. A person gets bored of the same old thing that you see in every store, Rags & Dishes is not one of those places. This time I bought stuff for myself, but I'm looking forward to buying gifts here, too. Definitely worth checking out. Very good service, too. They let you take your time to look around.

Downstairs was a disaster. There was lots of junk on the walls at one time. All of it was removed and all of the holes and dents were well filled. The team was always on time and very friendly and motivated to work and get the job done right. This basement went from an ugly storage area to a very inviting and comfortable space that is now well-used. A+.
