I have used Mark for a few years now and would not use anyone else. This time he shaped my huge blue spruce, gave a great prune to the enormous locust trees on my front lawn, worked with my birch tree and took down one tree and ½ of another. They are delightful to deal with, friendly, knowledgeable, well priced and responsive. I referred them to a neighbour who was very pleased, who then referred to 3 other people who were also delighted with the service. When you do the job expertly and are a delight to deal with, the outcome is much more business. The other benefit is that Mark has a cherry picker to deal with the very tall trees which many other companies do not. He is able to visually inspect the trees from above and move around the tree more efficiently and safely while pruning.

This visit was just a small job to remove a 20 foot high diseased ash tree. I would give Mark and crew a 20 rating if I could. Would simply use no other tree company. He respects the trees, his pruning is wonderful, his prices are fair and he is a delight to deal with. He will be back with the cherry picker to prune my large trees in the spring. Clean up is also fantastic.

We hired BVB construction to repair the stucco at the end of our house that had been badly damaged by a trumpet vine. They were very timely and worked quickly and efficiently - they even managed to go to the factory and colour match our 20 year old stucco to make sure that we had a good match. The cleaned up beautifully and we are very pleased and would certainly use them again. In fact have asked them to quote on another job

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have used Riley's. They are charming to deal with, the price is excellent compared to other quotes. They removed 2 large roof height dying ash trees plus some large branches from a birch tree. It was in a difficult confined space around the pool but they managed to get minimum debris in the pool and the pool area, when they had finished, looked cleaner than when they started. Last visit they pruned some huge trees on our front lawn. In high winds over the winter we did not lose a twig as they had removed all of the weight from the ends of the branches and given the trees a wonderful shape. I would not use anyone else for my tree work. They are knowledgable, fairly priced and wonderful to deal with.

Mark came out originally when we lost a branch off a tree in front of the house. He told us that, if we were to have another ice storm, we would be in trouble as our trees had been badly pruned and had a lot of weight on the end of the branches. We were to call back after the leaves had fallen off the tree and they would prune properly. The trees looked fantastic afterwards. So professional and they left everything spotless. In the windstorm last week, our neighbour lost almost her whole roof. Our beautifully pruned trees did not lose one twig.

What a breath of fresh air Lester is. My convection oven and ice maker in the fridge needed repair. Lester thoroughly inspected the ice maker and all of the connections but has to come back to change a valve. The oven, he could have replaced parts but found a much more economical solution to my problem. (the door seals on my convection oven were leaking, so he just changed the door with the bottom oven which is not convection and not used nearly as much). It is honestly the first time that my husband felt we had a very competent repair person who was not in to pad any bills but to effect the best repair at the least cost to us. The response time to come was extraordinary. I called after hours and had a phone call at 9 the next morning. He offered to come out the next day. We now would not use anyone else for our appliance repair.

We have been with Pool Man now for many years. We have used other companies for opening and closing in the past but always seem to end up with the filter or chlorinator improperly winterized or screws missing in the spring. Never that problem with pool man. The pool is perfectly closed every fall and reopened impeccably in the spring. The come when they say they will and if there are any mechanical issues with the equipment they come within the day to fix it. There may be other companies charging slightly less but it is a false economy as we always seem to end up having to pay to fix stuff if we use anyone else. Also the amount of work they do in the pool opening means that the pool is clear in about 24 hours instead of taking 5 days with me doing the hard work and vacuuming.

I was very impressed with the speed of response from Public Plumbing. Turnaround from email was about an hour. The work was to remove a garburator, replace the sink drain and piping and to replace a kitchen faucet. The work was done swiftly and professionally and I felt that Phil was very competent and the price was fair. Phil, the plumber arrived at exactly on time. I was more than happy with Public Plumbing's speed of contact as the number one listed company on the Homestars list failed to return 3 phone calls and an email over a 4 week period. I would certainly use Public plumbing again

My dryer broke down and I immediately turned to HomeStars as I had had very good experience when I needed an electrician. My last appliance repair experience on my oven was not a good one. I had used the repair person from the store where I purchased the oven (took 6 weeks for me to get the fix finally done). Had I looked on HomeStars I could have seen they only got a rating of 2!! I was very pleased to find JSN Appliances Repair. Sam answered the phone immediately and gave us a time for the next day, following up with a very courteous confirmation text . He phoned the next day to confirm again and when he was running late called to let us know and assure us he was still going to come. Having asked for the dryer model and serial number, he had all of the necessary parts and the job was done efficiently, quickly and cost efficiently. I now have a working dryer in less than 48 hours after it broke down. JSN has earned all of the reviewers "10's" and I would certainly use them again.

Bought a deal on Living Social for this Duct Cleaning Service. We made an appointment and called to confirm the day before. We did not hear from them (we are both home all day). I phoned and e-mailed through their website but after another few attempts and no call back I called Living Social. They called the company on my behalf to reschedule but to no avail. I have subsequently called 3 more times with no response and finally Living Social gave me back my money. They have apparently refunded most of the folks who bought the deal and have then been unable to contact the company
